nice, this truly a versatile formula, allowing a lot of creativity. I love how you didnt just try to recreate the tame impala song but also play around !

the breakdown of the keyboard parts was invaluable. I always feel at a lost after I lay down the piano chords as to how to fill it out. very helpful

Incredible video Marcus, it's like the bible for me! My main inspiration for putting hours into production is trying to sound like Tame Impala (and others like it), and that you break down the ins and outs so clearly helps me a lot! Keep it up, I'm looking your videos carefully!

Dude, this video is awesome! I love your approach of balancing creativity, practicality, and referencing. It truly dives into a style of production tutorial that doesn't exist anywhere else on youtube. It's not fundamentals, it's not tips and tricks, it's not some whacky new method that nobody uses, it's just focusing on creating an overall SOUND which is truly how the producer should think in my opinion. THANK YOU for debunking the LCR panning myth. Everyone is so obsessed with making their music as wide as possible and they don't just stop and think "huh, maybe I actually WANT something panned halfway." It happens everywhere in popular music. The only criticism I have is that your description of what sausage fattener does is a little oversimplified, but at the end of the day, if that's what you're hearing, then who cares. So glad you're back to making videos man

Recently discovered this channel and find these videos extremely helpful! Any chance you could do one of these videos for post punk / goth rock in the style of Joy Division, She Wants Revenge, Twin Tribes, Night Drive, Mareux, Casket Cassette, etc. I'm thinking of styles where the vocals are more baritone in natural. Thanks!
