Break is definitely my favourite DnB producer at the minute. I don't think he has ever brought out a tune that has not been sensational!

He is genius. His stuff with silent witness got me into him in 2006-2007. And omg his remix of calyx and teebees the quest is so amazing it goes beyond words! Loo

Whats weird is i got into break late in my dnb experience so to speak lol! Probably about 4 years into it before i discovered break ( at least consciously) i now think he may be the best producer of all time. His stuff is just magical!

Ben Schuette FL Studio has the Peak Controller, which allows you to modulate any parameter of an device with the audio signal of another. You can insert an EQ on your bass and have your kick drum cut out a specified band, but the possibilities are endless.

This is a master class.. Thank you for sharing!! I want to hear from a master that Logic is "better" than ableton. Messing around with buses is what made apple's Logic so unappealing to me. I moved on to ableton, where I spend less time "bussing" and more time handling the eq's... Automation is also an issue for me since logic pro has a ton of extra steps to automate, whereas in ableton it's around 2 clicks for anything.. Freeze, flatten, create a send track, etc.... So why use logic? It's not logical to waste time. Where does logic save you time where other DAWs wouldn't be able to? I truly want to know if you use logic as a personal preference, which could be that you enjoy wasting time.. or is it a logical preference, where you actually have reasons to back up using Logic?
@GA-ju7hf
@GA-ju7hf 9 лет назад
to be the best of the best, I cannot waste any more time than I did from ages 18-22... Sorry to sound so blunt, but that's how I get direct knowledge. I need blunt answers

Gabriel Arocha Once again, thank you so much for this eye-opening and very informative video. This ONE video took me toward another level of production.. For that, I owe you one!

I use both Ableton & Logic Pro. I find Ableton is brilliant for getting ideas down quick. The automation is just smooth & fast. Although I like Logic because of how in depth you can bus audio/MIDI together. I feel like the 'Group' feature in Ableton is quite limiting. Every DAW has their own pros & cons, I guess.

Gabriel Arocha This discussion about which DAW to use it ultimately pointless. Use what you feel comfortable with and fuck anyone that says otherwise. You may find a limitation on a particular DAW that causes you to switch but it's quite rare, so beyond that just use whatever you find lets you create music in the most enjoyable way.

+Gabriel Arocha I agree on many levels, however I think the look of logic is very nice and tidy and logic is clearly working for break and many other producers so fair play. I use ableton simply cause i'm on PC and it was appealing!

The native Ableton compressor has an EQ-section to the sidechain where you can EQ the input signal to the compressor. This effectively does the same thing as the trackspacer right? Not trying to hate on trackspacer, just curious. Great video and insight to a master artist!
@victorvelasco-gracia5806
@victorvelasco-gracia5806 9 лет назад
Headknot No, it doesn't do that. The EQ in ableton's compressor affects the signal that triggers the sidechain, letting for example on the snappy top end of a kick trigger the compressor without the longer tail in the low frequencies. What track spacer is doing is applying sidechain compression only to the frequencies you want, like multiband sidechain compression. You can do this with ableton effects, but it's kind of a roll-your-own type deal by using racks to split frequencies.

well this is pretty just sampled based, well working with synthesicers got lot different problems with eq, filter and compression.

Lool. I was working on a tune at the same speed and when he was playing his snare and I was playing my kick, they synced up.
