This is My favorite interview so far. Matt Wallace is so talented and so humble. I agree with his philosophy so much. I could listen to his wisdom forever. Thank you Dave for this interview.

Really liked this episode. Matt was dropping names every question. For someone who is learning music and the biz, those names/songs/ideas while sitting in front of a search engine is GOLDEN. It's like sit down, watch, hear, pause, search, learn, go back to youtube and repeat the process over and over

Faith No More is one of my favorite bands of ALL time! Matt has had a major hand in some of my FAVORITE music... Matt is right! The Real Thing has tooo much compression.

jagged little pill does get alot of mentions in the music industry, i am a huge fan of this album, i think its obvious testament to feel and emotion being 1st place. Such great songs coupled = timeless music

Anybody know what kind of speaker setup there is in the background? Above them with the black lineout. I'd love to hear how those speakers sound.

+DjSadhu They look like dynaudio air 25 . The black is not part of the speakers only what you see in gray . Is not common to use far fields for mixing . Some people have them just for check the mix or for mastering but they mix in near fields . Some studios don't even have far fields . For mastering studios/engineers on the other hand is more common to use middle fields or far fields .

+TimeMarchesOnBand Either I'm way too old or way too young when people start having trouble remembering how Korn spelled their name.  It's with a K and a backwards "R" lol
