Also this album is completely gender neutral. He never uses any pronouns which I think is really cool. I haven’t found that on any albums other than his I don’t think.
Yeah but the way he said that bands might end up better mentally and I just laughed. The fact they had each other is wonderful, but man. Fuck management
@@alektryon5496 they actually ended up mentally in a better state than if they would've gone through it alone , imagine all of that pressure on one of them with nobody there with them that they can feel they can relate to , the music industry is tough , and yes it showed them its ugly face at some point but it would've been way worse if they were facing it alone , they said many times how they stood up for each other , that at least is something ...
Yousra Farhane oh for sure. I’m just saying based off of how Zayn was getting 10 minutes of sleep, that’s just not healthy no matter how you slice it. Liam got really depressed. Harry was made to be a womanizer at 16! Louis couldn’t go home at all. In the This is Us movie lou talked about how that had been the first time he’d been home in a while. Yes, the fact that they were together is great and they had each other to lean on. But the way management treated them, they could’ve been happier, and maybe even together still. If management wasn’t pushing an album and a world wide tour every year who knows where 1D would be now.
@@alektryon5496 I agree I actually feel bad for everyone in the music industry , and them being the hot topic just amed it way harder for them , alk they saw was money , they didn't see that they're human beings they didn't even see that they were just a bunch of teenagers , honestly I'll never forgive management for that ...
he actually auditioned with mr brightside and had the yes from the judges but txf didn't record his audition so he had to sing another song (hey there delilah) just for them to have something of his audition to show on tv
Louis pays a lot of attention to detail. Everything he does in his songs is always intentional. I love how honest and vulnerable he gets. not many writers are willing to do that. defenceless was literally a cry for help. so well-written. can't wait for new music from him
"I'm too tired to be tough, just wanna be loved" literally screams for help, it always rips my heart. Especially since he sings it so emotionally, so raw. Why does he do this to me
@@DeeFightingDreamer i dunno man, i dunno louis has just that about him, aside from his absolutely INCREDIBLE writing, his voice is just so unique and I could listen to it all day
i think that particular lyric its closest to lgbtq+ people cause "a church of burnt romances" cannot be understood by straight people yk. that feeling of helplessness and utter emptiness hits just the unlucky ones. it means so much more to us than it will to someone else
@@leviackerman-ri5rt Oh yeahhh. I feel "helplessness and utter emptiness" but it's for other reasons haha 😐 anyways yeah I get that. Otb is my favorite song bc I love it musically and it's in general just like- pure poetry, but there's no real like deep personal meaning to me.
I love how much respect you have for Louis and his lyrics! He was definitely an underrated member of the band and I’m sure if he saw this he would really appreciate what you have to say. I can tell he really loves these songs. He wasn’t even thinking about putting out his own solo stuff and just continue writing for other people. Thank you for giving this amazing man the recognition he deserves!

“i’m gonna refrain from speculations here but it’s pretty straightforward as to what it’s talking abt” -Blake McLain smirking knowing larries are going wild
“These guys were lucky that they had each other to growing up in that sort of scene” Niall actually said on the Zach sang show that after watching Justin Bieber’s documentary he felt so sorry for him having to grow up alone in the industry and then talked about how people really underestimate how much having each other meant to them all 🥺🥺🥺
I know back around 2013 the guys from New Kids on the Block were asked if they had any advice for the 1d boys, and they said something like "No, I would worry far more about Bieber than the 1d boys because when you're alone as a kid in the industry you have all these people telling you how wonderful you are and no one to keep you in check, but if you're in a group you have each other to keep you grounded and to understand the craziness of it all. If someone steps out of line, the other boys will rein them back in." I think that's definitely true.
louis didn't write the lyrics on that song though, the writer himself did confirm 'the club of 27' was his intention, it still makes me quite emotional
@@jenn535 yeah i get what you mean, but what i meant was that louis could have contributed to the melody or some other part of the lyrics so he'll still be credited to. Cole Alan (one of the composers) said on TikTok that louis didn't write that 27 line in particular because fans were asking him questions after the speculation of this line could relate to the club 27 has sparked. so Cole had to explain because fans were so concerned about louis' mental health considering what he had gone through, he said it wasn't louis who wrote that line and asked his fans not to worry. sorry if i didn't explain it well earlier :)
@@DanielaMartinez-mg6cq ohhhhh. i was un aware of that. in that case it might be larry but personally i dont think so. another interview zayn says that louis is never at his house with harry and that louis pretty much lives with zayn. I also heard that harry moved out very soon to go live with other friends. I obviously dont know whats true or not but im just sharing what ive heard. i know i can be 100% wrong so i completely respect your opinion
blake talking about how the second verse in too young was possibly rushed but Louis kept it in the song anyway because he’s attached to it... *“face to face at the kitchen table”*
It wasn't written by Louis tho. It was written by Liam Gallagher (from oasis) Louis said in an interview that he didn't change any lyrics cause it was already perfect
Faraz Shahid I don’t think it was written by Liam Gallagher. Liam Gallagher has a writing credit on one of the songs because they thought it sounded too similar to one of his songs. He didn’t actually write any of the songs sorry :(
you really appreciated the part of two of us that said “i can feel your blood run through me, you’re written in my dna” and i just wanted to let you know louis just dropped two of us merch based off of that line, they are planning to drop merch based off of each the singles but it’s limited 🖤
The song " Two of Us" is very sad but has become anthem for me. I have lost my mom and dad. This January I lost my 24yr old son. When I listen to this song it gives me the strength to live for all of them especially my son. I want them all to be proud of me until I see them again. I have always loved Louis's voice but this song, this album is a true testament to his talent as a song writer.
hi love, just came by to say i am positive they are proud of you. you're still going and going strong, and i am so glad that we all found refuge in Louis' songs. you are a wonderful person
i literally can’t stop laughing whenever blake tries to dance around the subject of larry haha. but this was so interesting to watch! I always love listening to other’s interpretations of these things and yours are always incredible. Great insight on the lyrics and production :)
I started listening to their solo albums recently, Louis' album is amazing, not 1 single song I don't love. I can't listen to both of us, I also lost my mum to cancer, so it is hard. I love that pop/rock/punk Louis brings, reminds me of my youth. The lyrics are great, they just pull me in, and I feel all of them. It is amazing to go back in time as well and listen to some 1D songs that are fun as well and see how these 5 guys have been able to continue making music, each of them following his own path. Thanks for your reaction to both Louis and Harry's lyrics, they are my two favourite albums.

Blake McLain, who has openly said he doesn't prefer it when artists name the album after a single track on it, has said that he would like the album to be named "Only For the Brave." THAT is how amazing Louis Tomlinson is, lyrically.
Yes, now also consider that Louis may not have been completely up front with us when he said a Wall is just a Wall when he was asked why he picked it as the title track. (Like the tattoos having no special meaning discussion). Walls *could* be about the ultimate act of bravery...realizing that the walls you have built aren't actually serving a purpose or protecting you as you metaphorically grow (falling short, now I stand taller, etc) and that letting the walls go (watch them all come falling down...) is best. Honestly, that's so hard and requires so much bravery. See Blake, essentially he may have named the album for the 'brave' theme, just in a creative way. 😂
Louis lyrics is soo meaningful he really put him self and his life in this album it’s really nice to see people understand and appreciate his writing skills❤️
Louis is doing a lyric drop for his merch! The first one is two of us and he has dna for “you’re written in my dna” Edit: cool thing about the dna is that it’s backwards on the shirt design so when you look in a mirror it’s the right way (“looking back in every mirror”). All hail Louis the creative genius!
Blake:- I do not know if it is intentional or not but it would be reallyyy cool if it is. Me:- YES IT IS. LOUIS TOMLINSON IS VERY SMART AND INTELLIGENT. HE PUT A MARK ON THE MUSIC INDUSTRY BY HIS MUSIC. HAIL TO LOUIS TOMLINSON
I can’t even begin to describe how talented Louis is for writing this masterpiece and singing it with so much emotion. Every single song on this feels so personal and taken care of like it’s his baby and he’s sharing his story. He’s such an honest songwriter even if he doesn’t reveal much in his lyrics because he prefers to keep them to himself the lyrics still feel so honest and close to reality like as I said before so personal because he still put his true feelings in these to the point where it touches your soul and you start feeling his pain. It’s so intimate and raw, Louis was never one for heavy productions and masking lyrics by loud music because he wants his lyrics to be heard first, he wants us to feel and understand. Gosh this probably doesn’t even make sense but I really cannot find the words to describe this guy’s music.. Anyway, thank you for your reaction!
I've always thought "Don't Let it Break Your Heart" is both Louis speaking to the listener as well as to himself. It certainly is a song that can apply to anyone. This was a wonderful reaction vid, Blake! So glad to see that these vids have helped you find a love for music again!
Princess Park Fact: The name is an Apartment Complex ALL boys lived in for a couple of months after X Factor. Louis shared a flat with Harry. The other boys had their own flats, but in the same building. Speculation: Lyrics can be in reference to Harry OR it is in reference to ALL of them OR it references Louis OWN journey.
I love how in Always You Louis sings in the present tense most of the song, but in the last verse he sings in the past tense, meaning that, after all this time, he found the person he'd been looking for and it's finallt with them
The theme is that he’s missing someone... I wonder who... jk. In all seriousness, this album is soooo good! This is a no skip album and watching this video made me see how much of a talented writer Louis is! Can’t wait to see him next year!
Mayara Pereira yeah his exact words were “i wish i could, but Zayn’s label has made it very clear that they don’t want me posting any more of his album breakdowns on here” it sucks that they won’t let him bc i love zayns music
@@halovee.n can u imagine how much it hurts boys and eleanor?? It's ok to ship larry but put yourself on elenours place do u want people to ship ur boyfriend with other person and be disrespectful toward u??? She is a human just like us and she has emotion:)))))) u think it's about harry? It's ok but dont talk about it in public plsss! She might see this....
louis did say that he made only the brave that short so that people will want more after listening to it, it works, we do want more (and blake do too!)
THANK YOU. I haven't watched yet but already know it's gonna be an amazing hour! p.s.: Louis is a lyrical genius indeed. Every line is a journey, honestly.
I normally refuse to watch any type of reaction videos because a lot of the time people have no true interest in it. But I love Louis so much that I had to know what you thought and it’s evident that you have a passion for music. I know you spoke about it but as a new watcher I want to say thank you for doing this because it’s something that you love to do and not because it’s perceived as “easy”
blake you are 100% right at 36:41 as he has been in a dark, wierd place for a long time and he needed this album to get out of this. He is so strong to have gone through all that.
Honestly one of my favourite videos you have done. Love seeing you go in deep into the lyrics and really feel them. Especially when it comes to Louis and that you see what good of an artist he is❣️ love your reactions dude! Amazing ❤️
are we gonna talk about how harry has Ever Since New york, meaning something happened to him in new york and at the beginning louis says “i know you left apart of you in new york” i think that DLIBYH is lou telling harry that whatever happened in new york don’t let it hurt you too much. like i think dlibyh is for harry
Your totally right about fearless. It’s why it’s one of my favourite songs. To me it says to never lose sight of hope, and to put your pride and self consciousness aside, and just try! Love your reaction. Thank you.
louis is so vulnerable in his lyrics and im here for it. he copes by writing music and you can tell that all his feelings are wrapped around the lyrics he sings. hes a lyrical genius and i love him
When you talk about having that one special line in a song. I always refer to the story Paul Mccartney tells about "let it be" his mom died when he was 14 and as years went by at 28 years old, he said she came to him in a dream and simply said" let it be" the line " mother mary comes to me" is a reference to his mother mary. It has always blown my mind that three simple words could create such a special line in a song. As sombody who writes like you. I long to write a line like that.
"It’s that thing when you like.. you know you don’t know how to say what you trying to say, and like sometimes your emotions are just even blocking your ability to write things down into writing out lyrics.. even for musicians, even for artists you know? Like it happens so often and its so difficult to deal with that cause its just very very very frustrating. So sometimes you literally just write EXACTLY how you feel down on a piece of paper.. its not clever its nothing. Its just literally exactly how you feel" -Blake McLain \ 1:04:00 \ BLAKE IS MY THEREBY BYEE
THANK YOU! FINALLY. I really want people to see how great louis in songwriting. He is so good at it. The way his songs can be related to so many people who through the same things. I agree with your reaction on TwoOfUs and OnlyTheBrave 🥺🥺 Anyway, i hope you can react to louis' cover "7" and "Beautiful War" on his tour. You can search the videos in youtube, someone posted it with great quality. You'll love it 😆
Blake: "you only get them when you've gone through something in life that's incredibly difficult to deal with" Me: "if you know you know, if you don't you're lucky"
I remember seeing Niall doing an interview where he said he felt bad for Justin Bieber because he dealt with all the fame and chaos that 1D did but he was alone whereas they at least had each other.
Thanks for a great reaction to the beautiful talent of Louis Tomlinson. I do have to politely disagree with you on the ending of Only the Brave, however; the stark poignant mic drop at the end of that tiny piece of perfection is the ultimate end for the album.
