This is actually Seventeen's best choreo yet for me. The amount of musicality you need for this fucking choreography is insane. Imagine how tiring this will be live and ugh why is Seventeen so undeniably remarkable- Goddamn I might never shut up about this in the next few comebacks.
I think DWC is their hardest chorey technically, but GC is INTENSE physically. I mean the popping??? the HEAD SHAKING??? No wonder they seem super exhausted and out of breath after MAMA
They laughed at us. They told us "you'll never get a dark concept". We wept. We tried to compromise, lying to ourselves, asking "Does Clap count?" They laughed in our faces, but I knew. I knew that one day seventeen would hear our cries. The time has finally come. The day has arrived. Seventeen has blessed us with the dark concept we were all eagerly hoping for. Seventeen did not have to go that hard, but they did. They did that for us. God bless.
😭 I love the8😭😭and cuz the8 has the schedule in China right now, more Chinese likes him and the start to wanna know more about seventeen!!!!!!like my friends😂 she likes the8 cuz the8 has the programme in China now! Bravo!
Yes! I've been waiting for PD to react to Dark Seventeen and Jeonghan hehehe. This was so different from "Oh My!" {Insert Freshmen year vs Senior Year Meme} Yet it still feels Seventeen. "Getting Closer" more like Getting closer to Darkness. XD
Wesley Price They’re great dancers individually, but their choreographer could do a better job showing off their talents. Black on Black is one of their best choreos, purely because of the nature of the song complimenting the dance.
I felt exactly like you in Jun's part with that jump, because when I watched getting closer on MAMA that part was so bloody cool, and here I felt like it was weaker, and now that you explained it makes a lot of sense
Chan has amazing charisma and dance skills. if you watch him in music videos and live performances he's always going off. he also sings and raps. I may be biased cuz he's my favourite but i am TIRED of ppl sleeping on him smh
Danni Yes preach it! I totally agree Chan is my bias but that isn’t the reason I’m annoyed at people sleeping on him. Even if he wasn’t my bias I’d still be mad. He’s mad talented and I don’t get why people don’t see that. Also never enough screen time for him. I’m so glad pd said Chan and Hoshi’s part was his favorite. 😄❤️
I used to watch the Very Nice dance practice a lot before I knew anything about SVT and he was always the one my eyes would focus on. I assumed he was the main dancer. He's a crazy good performer.
2:11 here we gooooo *fanboying mode on* 😂 Edited: I know you avoid watch their performance @ MAMA but if u want to watch it,I prefer you to watch their full performance in mnet M2 (better than in mnet kpop because you'll see something that make you mad at cameraman)
So yes Jeonghan was FREAKING BIAS WRECKER. I think Call 3x and teen, age was as close as we every got to dark til now. And now....goodness me I'm dying. So this is supposed to be the prequel to YMMD
Mama does a much better shot with that Jun drop thing that you wanted. (The only shot that they do correctly but that shot they really did do well on.) also same I love that yellow ish room with the fire behind them! My favorite room!
DK is so nice and caring for carats that’s why he doesn’t style his hair aka free his forehead that often. He honestly knows it kills us. THANK YOU KING FOR GRACING US WITH A GLIMPSE OF YOUR FOREHEAD
I dunno if it's because I watched so many fancams but I love the live performance, it kinda made the mv a tad underwhelming to me at first watch. Maybe because the live also had their ad libs which I loooove
Svt have that refreshing sound....whether pretty u or getting closer, to me at least, all their title tracks have that feeling that is like a breath of fresh air. It's not heavy, it's not like they are trying to be something they aren't, they are simply taking on a new form. They are changing it up and it works because they know how to do it. They have that true versatility that comes with pure talent and hard work.
This is honestly one of their best songs ever. The thing I love most is that even tho it's a bit edgier, it's still very much SVT. I agree, The8 should always take centre. It fits him very well. Junhui in centre is also amazing. honestly it reminds me a bit of monsta x in a certain way that I can't really explain. I love this song so much. It's extremely experimental for SVT and I just love it so much
I never knew anything about music genres or music video productions but watching PD explain what Seventeen does to their music and music videos, I love them even more. They put so much thought and effort to the songs, to the choreography, to the music video, so I just cant help but love them even more. This is also why I love watching reaction videos from PD since he explains literally everything and his ACTUAL thoughts and reaction. He explains to you what you possibly don't know so when he does, you just can't help but love the group he is reacting to because you'll know the effort they put into their music. (I'll also add how PD can still make the video fun like fanboying over Jeonghan or the other members. Overall, I love SVT & PD so much, thank you for the video PD!)
YEEES THANK THE LORD PD REACTED TO DARK SEVENTEENNNNNNN ILYSM PD AND ITS ALWAYS YOUR REACTIONS THAT GET ME INTO NEW GROUPS OR SONGS THANK YOU!!! *also jeonghan is bootiful 😊 *
I watched a theory on Twitter that this is YMMD prologue, so they were high, like in Oh My! Was everything high and cute and happy, but in real life they were like in the vid That was sooo dope. AND WONWOO’S part, OMG OMG OMG I WAS exciTEDDDDD THAT CURLY HAIR.
Please watch MAMA stage of this. I know the camera works suck and you might be upset with one particular part and you'll know which one it is when you watch it 😂 It is just to see the choreography. Its good. 👌🏻
Yess I was looking forward to your reaction Fun fact this was filmed at an abandoned hospital not a set! (or some of it could’ve been a set idk) to see them messing around there watch the most recent ‘G’ Going Seventeens on their vlive channel. I loved the way they shot the space though and that blueish green color lighting. Idk what it is about that color but whenever I see it done well in an mv I love it. I think I need to go rewatch the m2 ver of the live stage. I’m guessing they’ll perform this at upcoming music shows too but I really wish this was a normal comeback so we could get all those different live stages Edit: I’m actually not sure if this was the thing they were filming at the hospital or if it was something else
I always love to waited and then watched your reaction PD-nim! And I do really agree about that "disappointed" part when Jun jumped but they didn't take a hugeeee action for that. That what I was thinking about.
I think you should watch the fancam from mnet(m2) to appreciate the choreography more! For the part of the zoom (that you were disappointed in), tbh I think is because it was not only Jun's part that was the highlight but also the rest of the members(the synchronization is super crazy!!). Anyways I also really love this dark concept, they rock it!!!!
This Choreo is amazing. The LIVE was amazing and I was super excited. While the song is simple and the MV is simple...idk it gells SO well. The song is dark, its hard, its fast, the looks and aesthetics is all DARK. Something that I don't see often for them
I love this song and video so much. I totally agree there should have been a zoom in on jun’s killing part though, the camera work was terrible at mama but that part hit harder in the performance. I’d suggest checking out a fancam rather than the official mama recording tbh.
This choreography is in my top favorites if not my absolute favorite I love all the little movements especially when they squat down and then just push back their jacket it gives off this cocky/confident/badass vibe and I am totally here for it
Honestly getting closer makes me teary-eyed everytime I listen to it, its so beautiful, seventeen GAVE us that dark concept and its better than we could have ever imagined
I was blown away by the choreo from MAMA, but now listening to the mv, the song is amazing. I love the parts that you mentioned about the instrumentals stripped away (hoshi/Dino and woozi/the8) . It's pretty much a capella and it's glorious. And speaking of boyish vibe, I felt that shedding with Flower, so I'm so glad they pushed it further with Getting Closer.
And until they do a dance practice, I highly suggest you go watch ALL THEIR MAMA 2018 performances. I kid you not, THEY WENT ALL THE WAY THE FUCK OFF, PD!!! It's definitely worth you seeing it. As much as people complained about the camera work, I was really satisfied with it, except for the panned out shots. I think you would get that satisfaction you wanted from Junnie's part. For all 3 performances, SVT was playing NO GAMES! I literally teared up!!!
i'm not sure if someone has said this before but i really love your lighting set-up! it gives this cozy but premium feel that makes me enjoy your videos more. the bgm helps too!
I'm glad that everyone else is as obsessed with this as I am and now I can formulate my thoughts better like " oh, thats why I love that part soo much"
You should watch their choreo. I usually don't like this kind of song but to my surprise I can never get bored of this song. At least till now not yet. That's how powerful SEVENTEEN is
Yes I came from the music video to see your reaction and did not disappoint I wanted to watch it again too! My favs and love love love this song/concept/video 💜💜💜
I've being waiting for a concept like this in i watch the concerts and i saw how Scoups looks in a concept like this... this Scoups stan is barely breathing right now...
Ngl after watching this mv and seeing all the jeonghan closeups i was excited for ur reaction vid 🤗 also i agree w/ everything u said abt the mv and setup!! love u ❤️
