Just bought a 828U , first shoot tomorrow 😁 . I really enjoy your series , very professional and knowledgeable . I have learned a great deal from watching and listening to your content . Thank you 🙏
It’s great you are now doing product reviews - thank you. I love the look of this shotgun. It ‘looks’ different and somewhat high-tech. Hope it’s a great gun to shoot.
My wife and I both enjoyed our 828u for Skeet and Sporting. It performed without fault until I sold it just before the 828u Sport came out in Europe. I didn't buy the 828u Sport in Europe because of the price and at over $6000 MSRP here in Australia it's still going to be a difficult sell. Because of all the online pish and the release of this one you can get the original for about $3000. I have actually been looking at getting the original again because its better value now even new. I know costs go up but this gun is designed for manufacturing efficiency that the margin for all must be great.
About 25yrs ago I put my shotgun in the wardrobe and stopped shooting trap. I had a fella by the name of Russel sitting at our lounge room table in country Vic, telling me to keep my eye in by having a shot now and then because there may come a day that you get back into it. Well the day came about 6yrs ago, just recently purchased a Ceaser Guerini Summit Impact. Love the gun. Also liking your new segment too. Great job
@@GoShooting I shot RH for over 50 years one eye closed. Took a course and learned I should shoot left so I switched. It has taken about 2 years to get on target. So any help with LH is much appreciated.
I've recently started shooting American Trap and love your videos. I suggest doing a video on budget trap guns for someone just starting out and unsure if they are in it for the long haul (to justify a pricey gun). So far based on all I've read online the least expensive gun (new) seems to be the Browning BT-99 (most of the guns that cost less are written off as something that won't hold up to significant trap shooting). Keep up the great videos.
A used Miroku MK38 with fixed choke works great for trap and they just keep on going if you look after them . You can pick one up for around £600 to £800 . Hope you enjoy and stay with this great sport .
Looks like they listened to the shooters ..big improvement on the first model they put out which was way too light , great innovation with the stock adjustment system
yea i really like that shotgun & am seriously considering it, i have read about some issues both with the ejectors & the trigger group malfunctioning, how did you guys find the recoil?, alot of people think it a bit harsh due to its weight, love the look & style, she's definitely a curvy girl, can you recommend where to purchase?
I really enjoy your Go Shooting videos .I started watching shooting on u tube during lockdown last year and think your instructional videos are up there with the best . I noticed you gave the restrictions of the supplied chokes , this is the first time I can remember this on a u tube review , but I think you forgot the chamber dimensions , or did I just miss it ?. One thing about this gun and a lot of modern guns is the compulsion manufacturers have to put their name etc all over the action sides , and sometimes on the stock .
I got the 1st gen. 828U. It progressively fell apart after less than 10,000 rounds. Benelli replaced it, but if you are serious about competition, the 828U is too light so recoil is bothersome and the inertial trigger has too much slop/creep. The recoil system compromises hulls, so it may not be a good idea to reload your spent hulls.
Great review. Thanks. I checked the Benelli site but could not identify if they actually have an Olympic Trap version. They seem to be made for Sporting/Skeet and hunting. Would you recommend this gun for Olympic Trap?
1st 828U model was a poor seller... Much maligned by the Internet trolls. This update looks much better. Looks like a good choice for the weekend Warrior. But, still don't consider it serious competition firearm.
Certainly a much stronger shotgun than its predecessor. We will be interested where it turns up in the competition world. Benelli have moved away from traditionalist over and under ideas with this one.
This shotgun really seems to have a lot going for it. Leave it to the Italians to eschew tradition when technological improvements can lend a competitive advantage while protecting aesthetics. I currently shoot with a Rem 870 and enjoy the hell out of my simple no-frills pump. The original 828U attracted me - I love all things Italian - but the light weight of it would be punishing for those 200-shell outings. This Sport version looks like it may be the frontrunner for my next step, but I’ve heard so many complaints about the ejector system failing. Would be nice to know how widespread an issue it really is.
in 828 U silver and 828 U black models and 828 Sport model as well auto eject system can be disabled deactivated ? if hunter doesn't like throwed shells , she/he can use this shotgun without auto ejector ?
Thanks for the review - One small thing the audio is missing in certain areas, the background music is still playing but no voice over so missed the middle and the end.
Hi, thanks for your comment. Can you let us know the time frame within the video that the audio drops out? We can't find it. It seems to be working fine from our end. Thanks in advance.
Hi Guys, Thanks for the reply. Not shoe whets going on then - I’m in the UK and tried it on my PC, iPad, iPhone and a few friends of mine too with the same results. The Gaps here are as follows: 0:53 to 1:04 - 2:42 to 3:35 - 4:24 to 5:35 and finally 6:02 to 9:42 The background music plays all the way through without any gaps, but the voices disappear during the above time frames. Keep up the fab videos they’re much appreciated. :o)
@@1stscMrGreen thanks for getting back to us. We cant make it not work. It seems fine, but I am keen to hear if anyone else have problems. Can you try one more thing (although it shouldn't matter) can you make sure you are watching it on full HD? The audio shouldn't be related to this. Sorry I cant give you an explanation. I have had a few people try and they report no problems. Thanks for the input
@@GoShooting background music good throughout at correct audio volume but, voice overs do fluctuate in audio volume at previously described timings. But, are still audible even with fluctuation.
Semiautos are good. But before semiautos there were pump actions. Benelli Supernova is goddamn best pump action ever. I've got 10 000 shells through and it keeps going :)
You mentioned a left handed stock option for this. I’ve only found right handed models of the sporter, where are you guys finding the left handed stock? Also great video!
Setting aside the comments of those who just don't like Benelli O/Us, how do you two feel this compares to the Beretta 694 -- ergonomics and performance?
Great Review!...I have a Benelli Ethos..but really have a hankering for an over under....would you guys maybe write my wife a note about why this is a good idea :) ?
As I posted on another review, a friend has one and I shot it last summer. I was left looking for my teeth fillings. Very brutal to shoot. I couldn’t imagine shooting a full 100 rounds with it.
sounds like the non sport version. most versions on the shelves are the featherweight field version. the sport version pretty much has to be special ordered. it is very heavy.
Good afternoon. Someone else commented (complained) that his 828u sport shot high with the bottom barrel. I have found the same thing with my 828u sport, the top barrel shoots 50/50, the bottom barrel shoots 90/10. My question is, do you think this is by design, to make it easier (quicker) to hit a rising clay?
@@GoShooting if it were your gun what would you do, learn to shoot it or try to get another set of barrels from benelli? Another question, when shooting American trap if you could choose different points of impact on each barrel, what would it be?
This is probably a good concept but extremely bad quality as my button barrel was shooting 30 sm higher than POA Balance is terrible for a sporting gun, and nothing helped to improve it. Sorry to say that, but Benelli quality is very questionable specially on new models. 828 and FTF ethos problems. P.S. 828 will not ever come even close to 694
The 828U had/has a terrible reliability reputation. Actually keen on the style for a sporter but too much innovation trying to improve on proven systems that work. A real shame. I do hope this model fares better.
