I guess they made it lit when off, so you can find it easily in the dark.

if it needs a flat spot, maybe put a small plastic tupperware lid in the spot you plan to place it?

Just picked one of these up with a 30% off coupon at petsmart. I tried hooking up to a timer but I can’t make that work. When the timer turns it on it goes from an off state to the idle steady green light but won’t switch again to the flashing light. Why on earth did thrive make it this way? Has anyone had success making it work with a timer? I’m thinking I can take the switch apart and just make it a constant on and let the timer do. It’s thing?
