i’d like to see an updated Knucklehead video covering different styles and colors and including some real toss&retrieve on-the-water swim footage, i think your pattern could use another video’s-worth of love. thanks Brian
Another outstanding Smallmouth/Trout fly !!! I was just in one of my favorite fly shops getting a few things for a fly tying demo & could not find the Fettuccine foam that you shared with us all. Thanks again for bringing new/cool ideas to RU-vid !!! I'll try to get my hands on some to tie up that Smallie/Trout pattern. ( is that Orange & Rootbeer colors you used ) Thanks !!! David Fisher-of-Men Fly Tying
The biggest thing I keep in mind when designing new flies is the materials I am using how each one will effect the fly or do something different. Currently got one streamer pattern in the works but doing sone fine tuning on it and giving sone to guides to try when they do streamer floats
Hey Brian! I really enjoy your channel brother. I'm a new fly tyer from California who uses and fishes in a wheelchair. I love your creativity and the humor and new ideas explored by you on this channel. Keep up the good work! Oh how do I participate in your giveaways? I love giveaways! LOL! Take care man! See you in your next video.
I dont know if you check older comments on your videos, but i make them when i can. To say fettuccine foam changed your life is not rediculous in my mind. Fly fishing has a way of sneaking up on you and it manifests itself in mazny ways. Years ago i was readinng a book by Gary LaFontaine titled " Thhe challenge of the Trout!" I had found it in the bargain bin at a grocery store. Yeah weird I know, but i had nust bought "Caddisflies," by the same man and went through it like a rabid Wolverine. I took it home and read it....twice! It was amazing and i was halfway through it a third time when i suddenly had this epiphany!! I suddenly realized i was "seeing" fly fishing for the first time! How it affected my life, came out of the dark, it was so wildly obvious! It became an annual book to be read. I became a better and happier guy for having read it. Any one little thing can change the "Why," of what we do. We just had to be ready! Good video!"
Looks like cool stuff Brian. I don't have any yet but I should probably get some What 'cha doing in February? I've got an RV spot on Lake Okeechobee for the month. If you want to come down and do so fishing let me know. Keep the good stuff coming buddy.
Happy New Year, may you have a blessed Year for you and your Family. I really am enjoying the new materials and how to use them. Some people do not have a lot of time. Thanks again for the new Information Brian. See you on the water.
Time to sit down at the vise! Smallmouth season is just around the corner. Last summer we were trailing a knuckle deep through a pool (rowing into a spot for lunch) and had a smallie hammer it. Pretty excited about these ideas.
Brian, Do you possibly know of a RU-vid video that explains how to Braid this type of material ? I'd really like to tie up this material for a Stonefly like you showed. Thanks, David Fisher-of-Men Fly Tying
I need to practice more with fettuccine foam, can't ever seem to get the head right when trying to tie knuckleheads. Side note, that braided extended body just screams hopper abdomen.
Happy New Year Brian! Man I really appreciate this video. I found a yellow piece of this on flyshop floor and owner said take it. I made some micro perch bugs and it slayed. Had no idea of all its uses..just put it on my next visit list. Thanks for all you share buddy. Best wishes to you and your family in 2024! 👍👍👌🎣 I had to come back and say when you enlarged and shrunk your head and changed voices, I haven’t laughed that hard in a while! 😂 Well done!Thank you!
