To help the bathtub area look better you can get grout refresh to paint the grout white again. Also remove old caulk and apply fresh caulk. Both are fairly simple, lower cost and big impact.

For the mirror, usually it’s easy to unscrew and replace with a new one. Technically its a landlord’s job to renovate but its not required. So you could always renovate and return it to original state when you move out

Hey Julia! For the bathroom mirror, you could consider just ripping off that entire mirror face, cover it with a brand new mirror, and then buy a medicine cabinet (ikea has some nice affordable options) to install over the toilet for storage. You could also replace all the towel bars for metal ones inexpensively to add some metal tones to the space. If you really want a project, you could look into peel and stick flooring to cover up the tile floor!

Your wise choice apartment is getting more modern each vlog. Love the room divider and desk. Two easy and rewarding bathroom upgrades I do is to install a new showerhead and curved shower rod. I save both rod and old showerhead and reinstall when I leave.

I relate to the clean thing SO much. When I move each time I feel frozen, disgusted and sick, I cover my entire body with clothes and wear socks and can hardly breathe. It’s nearly impossible for me to shower (I go to my parents the first couple weeks to shower) and it takes about a month before I start cooking again. I’m like a cat, change is really difficult for me haha. We bought a house and we’ve been in it for about four months now and after hours and hours and days and days and weeks of cleaning I finally feel safe, like it’s really mine. I still find some suspicious shit every now and then from the previous owners that make me want to puke (just shit like dirt but I have rlly bad ocd) It’s so hard 😭 I don’t ever want to move again. I always ALWAYS change the toilet seats, throw out the old ones and then cover in rubbing alcohol

I watched some deep clean videos and found that for grime stuck on bathroom tiles and grout scrub daddy and mr clean pads were the best. Especially if you decide not to use bathroom paint to cover up the tiles or re-glaze the tub. It’ll likely work on the tile floors as well.

I watched another young girl getting her apartment fixed up in New York and I was noticing you putting up your shower curtain and something she did that I thought was a good idea. She put her shower curtain all the way to the top. She got a long, very long shower curtain, and that made the room look larger by putting that shower curtain so high, it really did look nice. I just thought I would tell you about it. I think you’re a very smart girl.

There are some cleaning products that help with rust and discolored grout in the bathroom for tubs and showers. I know that CLR is one of those products.

Hi Julia! This flat is so cool and has so much potential! If you need some cleaning/deep cleaning tips check out Auri Katariina YT, she is deep cleaning really DINGY houses and making them into homes again. You will definitely find there some advices for mould, grout or limescale :)
