Postman is a fantastic tool but it's not exactly programmer friendly. IntelliJ's HTTP client on the other hand is much more in tune with the programmer workflow and expectations. In this video, I'll go through the key features of the IntelliJ HTTP Client.

I don't think it has this level of flexibility. You might want to look at Karate if you need something like that.

is the Http Client only available for the Ultimate edition and not on community edition?

Unfortunately, yes, but there is a very similar plugin for VS code that has a similar syntax called 'REST Client' marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=humao.rest-client

I think the easiest way is to assign the response of the first request to a global variable, then reference that global variable as the request body in the second request.
