Abigail Green has been a Fellow of Brasenose College, Oxford, since 2000. In 2015 she was awarded the title Professor of Modern European History by the University of Oxford. Her research interests include especially nationalism and regionalism in 19th century Germany; Jewish internationalism and comparative religious internationalisms; humanitarian philanthropy and the pre-history of human rights; and liberalism. She has published an acclaimed biography of Sir Moses Montefiore one of the first truly global celebrities. Professor Green will also be talking about the ‘Jewish Country Houses’ research project.
