In the case of technological advancement Russia has emphasized science and mathematics for the last app. 100 years so if you were growing up in Russia and had say a mathematical mind that was greatly encouraged and promoted by the government so you could flourish in that field. This way they advanced a great deal without bragging about it so today we are amazed they have dominated the U.S. on the battlefield etc. In the west we threw science and math under the bus. Too hard for our fragile minds and we ended up here.

This was a great interview with Professor Sachs, which I would love to forward to some family/friends, but I won’t be doing that because they’ll think I’ve gone coo-coo based on the absurd and misleading title, and won’t watch the video anyway. That’s a loss, because it would be worth their while to listen to what Sachs says

Danny, I noticed the title changed, and thank you if that’s influenced by my previous post. But it still uses sensational language and doesn’t properly describe the content. In fact, Dr. Sachs makes it clear there won’t be a BRICS currency anytime soon, if ever, and “dollar dominance” is not the main point of his interview anyway. I would describe it as something like “America’s insistence on global hegemony is self-destructive as BRICS advances multi-polar alternative”
US always overestimated her own power and underestimated that of others as she had had won in WWII. Hence US was beaten by an poorly equipped China in Korean War, later in Vietnam and most recently in Afghanistan despite her overwhelming military powers.
The whole world will have to eventually join BRICS, a gold based monetary system. We've had gold based monetary systems in the past, plenty of times, thru our history, such as Bretten Woods, it's not that bad.
What the western countries say as GDP is a MAYA. GDP is factored into human hands ie., population and therefore GDP originates from South. The fact is that GDP is usurped by less populated west by colonisation and imperialism. Similarly Democracy does not confine to modern Nation States and that too distorted as Monarchic and Oligarchic . The global democracy is what the Hindus called as "Vasudeiva Kudumbakam" (वसुदेइव कुदुम्पकम्) meaning "the God of land ( greenery ) belongs to the humanity. That is what every religion espouses. Looking at the Old Testament, any time Israel went into a war with out the approval of God they would loose. Why God did not support them?. Firstly, they did not depend on God to defend them but depended on their own strength and alliances with other nations. Secondly, they disobeyed God and there for sinned against Him. And what is there sin now?. They do not love their neighbor the Palestinians, so they disobeyed the commandment to love your neighbor as your self, also there is too much innocent blood of children and their mothers on their hands. All who are responsible for shedding innocent blood will not escape God's Judgement whoever they may be. God is going to humble both Israel and America by His Mighty Hand, and through their suffering lead them to repentance. Sustainability. Thanks for the sanity check. The population quadruples every 100 yrs. Our grand kids will see a world with 32 billion people. Humanity won't get that far. Bring in ethics and morality, I can only come to the conclusion I'm not smart enough, or perhaps educated enough, to tackle a problem of this magnitude. And we're only 10 seconds in the video.
