The corruption trial of former President Jacob Zuma is expected to begin next Tuesday - the 15th of October after his application for a permanent stay of the prosecution was dismissed with costs.
The High Court in Pietermaritzburg handed down the judgment after Zuma and his co-accused, French arms company Thales, argued that their right to a speedy trial was infringed upon. Zuma also alleged that there was political interference in charging him.
