My girlfriend and I met 11 months ago. I am 61, and she is almost 63 (post menopause). Her sex drive was much less than mine. I was always about once a week up until I turned 60 (last year). I began testosterone treatments. My doctor refused to treat me with testosterone, even though my levels were low. He said get used to getting older. So I had to order testosterone from under ground labs. I've been self treating with replacement levels for 14 months.I feel wonderful, energetic, no brain fog, self driven, and happy. My sex drive is now quite high. My girlfriend was a "once every two weeks" sex drive, and we needed a lot of foreplay and lubricants. Orgasms were difficult for her without a lot of stimulation. She wanted to try testosterone. Within the first two weeks she was feeling the same awesome experiences that I feel, and she has been dragging me to the bedroom twice a week. Absolutely no lubrication is needed, and she can have multiple orgasms. We have both kept ourselves in great shape throughout our lives. We workout with weights, eat properly, and live clean, and both of us have never used steroids until this recent time in our lives. I take 140 mg test a week (every other day). She takes 6 mg of test every 6 days so far. I started at 100mg, and raised it to 140mg over time. She may raise hers to 10 mg per week as her body adjusts. I'm just letting you all know that this is an awesome thing. There are many older people going on testosterone therapy. Many get it through their doctor. Many have to go to under ground labs and test it before use. There are just too many other positives to list. Some of the stigma involved such as heart attacks, blood clots, are slowly being disproved. In fact, testosterone supplementation, done only to replace, can possibly extend your life, as well as increase quality of life.

people fail to realize it's the metabolites that can cause these cardio issues or a huge spike after being deficient for so long. I'm so happy you two figured it out. Sick and tired of traditional doctors.

Since i turned 50 I've been taking HRT estrogen Gel,Murena Coil & tostran Gel,I believe the testosterone gel is brilliant! It's helps not with just sex drive,it elevates my mood,my skin looks healthier & my hair all of a sudden is thicker,i have alot more energy and actually work out now,i would certainly recommend giving it a try.

Yeah, this Susan Davis saying there is no benefit except for increasing libido is just really bad research tests.

It seems very difficult to receive this type of specialized medical care or prescribing in Canada. These are small doses. It should not be controversial. Our provincial governments (afaict) also don’t cover the safer types of HRT eg estradiol patches and Prometrium (progesterone). They only fund oral estradiol or CEE and oral Provera (MPA).

I agree, even Angelique, an estrogen based pill is paired with a cancer causing synthetic progesterone called progestin (patented and profit making) rather than real progesterone (not patentable), a natural hormone with no cancer causing effects which can be applied as a cream separately. Big pharma really is absolutely disgusting.

Prof Susan Davis and the Australian Menopause Society produce guidelines for the treatment of peri menopausal and menopausal women which also restrict women’s access to testosterone. As stated by Prof Davis in this interview, access is restricted to women with what is described as sexual dysfunction through loss of libido causing the women distress. This is incredibly sexist. No mention of protection against sarcopenia and other benefits which are well described elsewhere are diminished. I know many women (& men in andropause) who are seeking access to testosterone and not a single person who has been able to access it. In this interview, Prof Davis says smaller doses of testosterone medication produced for men is the preferred prescription for women. What about Androfeme? Australian made and certified, and made for women

@@lollyjohnston2063 that's the total amount of grams in the bottle. Look for a number followed by "mg" . Are you on Tostran gel, 2%? You're probably taking 10mg an alternate days. Does that sound about right?

Do these ladies have any idea what they are talking about? First she says a women need to stay within the pre menopausal range for testosterone then she says give about 10th of the amount of testosterone given to a man. However levels given to men are always meant to achieve optimum levels, so the right answer would be to aim to achieve optimum levels for women. She also mentions the cancer causing, money making progestin, the same synthetic progesterone that causes breast cancer in women when given as part of HRT, rather than real progesterone that cannot be patented and is very beneficial, and can be applied as an absorbable cream. Big pharma really is a diseased industry that constantly puts profit ahead of people's health. More controls are needed on this industry. The corrupt, politicized FDA is worse than useless.

True, very confusing info in the video. But how do we then know what is the optimum dosage of testosterone for women? Not much of profits for big pharma in HRT, hence very little or confusing information
@mrofnocnon
@mrofnocnon 2 года назад
@@tallulah_b.1368 Average dose by self injection for men is 100mg a week, so 10 mg for women would be starting point. Experiment with the dose to find were you feel best. Often more is not better. Get tested to check you are within the top end of the physiological range, going much higher than this can lead to side effects in some people.
@elsagrace3893
@elsagrace3893 2 года назад
@@tallulah_b.1368 I believe North American Menopause Society recommends up to but not over 13mg per day so that is very close to 1/10 of a man’s dose or much less. How you feel and observing side effect is more important than lab measurements.

If bio-identical testosterone replacement is helping improve the quality of life for post-menopausal women, and helps them get off multiple prescriptions, then I say it’s a very good thing for women and should be discussed as option rather than prescribe women with anti-depressants, statins, pains meds, etc., etc…which by the way these meds make women feel worse and also gain weight and become diabetic.
