Those giant paint shakers are from a guy who buys old lab grade mixers and refurbishes them for the hobby. They’ll probably outlast their owners and have to be written into their will.
You can make fun of my Space Marines and my Cold Stone cup, but drying off my brushes with old socks is the HILL I DIE ON! (Just ignore the rolls of paper towels on the top shelf)
That Paint Roller of Death?! I don't think it is just a fancy out of the way storage. IS THAT RED PART ON THE SIDE A MOTOR?! I think that roller is keeping those paint in constant movement with a mixer ball in each bottle. The question is ...at what speed? Are those paints rotating in a slow 'wienie roller' speed or is the Paint Roller of Death spinning at the speed that its name implies?
Thanks for showing my desk at 10:41 my paintmixer of doom is from an chemical lab where i used to work. And the Bust is King Ludwig I. of Bavaria. Love your videos
It's a sauce container, yeah. Satay sauce to be exact. Handy for keeping dirt and basing grit in, or in this case tiny air dry clay bricks for 15mm urban rubble. Also, the vitamin bottles work well for me, what can I say. The color scheme...well, it's kind of a "make do with what you have" thing. The seventies'll come around in interior decorating style at some point. 🤷
1:26 I get strong Aussie vibes from Alex's setup! We love our sheds. Heck I bet that plastic container under the PC desk is from Bunnings Warehouse, lmao Put my money on this being an Aussieland hobby den! (In which case, holy cheese Alex, DO you have aircon? Because longitude-dependant that den would get sticky-as in summer, surely?)
@@coding8911 I’m don’t want to look like trying to promote someone else’s goods on Miniacs channel. I’m not affiliated with the guy that makes but they are searchable.
its not just motorized but motorized with a stepper motor. I would be surprised if it wasn't programmed to spin to certain points to reveal the color you are looking for. Kind of a neat idea regardless
@@gotsane it doesn’t have a program but you could put it on a timer. i just turn it on about ten minutes before I work. It’s actually a pretty trippy noise if you have ball bearings in your paint because you get a really cool rhythmic, clicking. Or I can drive you mad.
13:30 I am glad to see your innocence. "Is that a sex toy?!" "Its probably a bridle." "Oh. Okay." As a jaded internet veteran I aint seeing those as separate things.
Ooh those Europeans and their lack of air condition. Yeah its because we dont build houses from plywood and sadness. PS: the Satesaus is indeed a sauce made from peanuts and a spiced up with sambal, its a Dutch / Indonesian thing. You should try it with skewered chicken sometimes.
13:35 this is mine lol and I like how in the video he gave me a southern accent then when I mailed in sprues him and Jon then also gave me a southern accent lmao
That rolling paint storage is actually genius. My Pro-Acryl sits on its side (using Monument Hobbies paint racks) and I always find that the paint separates, so I end up having to shake the be-jebus out of it before I use it. That paint roller would save so much arm strength for more grown-up activities 😂
when its your job and puts food on your table. I heard the same statement about being a professional Airbrush Artist. TaoQ66. if you have to ask you just wont understand.
ca. 1:28 : Sorastros Painting used in one of his videos an old Sock to Whipe Wash from a Miniature. Don't remember which one was. (Or wait: It might have been the At-At from Star Wars: Empirical Assault.)
"What's going on with the eggs?!" Tell us you've never used Silly Putty as a masking material without telling us you've never used Silly Putty as a masking material.
14:20 this person has like 15 painting handles, which must mean they have 30 arms! I'd be worried about mocking that one, it's literally where C'Thulu sits and paints using his tentacles....
Only the real ones know about the importance of socks in the hobby. My first 4 years painting minis I used the same sock to wipe paint… after that I guess I was initiated because for no apparent reason I decided to grab myself a nice roll of paper Ts, never to look back 🧦
The "spiky ball of death" looks like a Moravian Christmas Star, but you don't usually see those in black. (I've known a few stained-glass artists to make them as early projects.)
The gloomhaven minis you showed are.... not good or detailed compared to what's available on the market right now as competition. I see the appeal of the more simplified look, but if it doesn't look good in video, I'm afraid they look even worse in person
He used the og bolt thrower realm of chaos cover. Listening to 4th crusade now. You really know how to set off a bolt thrower binge. That was an hour ago. Video still paused
I don't use a sock but an old t-shirt. After rinsing my brush in water I pull the brush over the shirt to get rid of most of the water. Works a lot better than paper towels. Seems like this person uses the sock for the same reason.
what we need is someone we can send pics of our work in to and get constructive advice on things we could do better.. or the next step.. maybe said with some love and tact as to not discourage, I reckon youd be great at that.. just an idea :)
These videos are honestly useful, seeing how people set their spaces up gives ideas, especially the ones with limited space man that guy sitting on the floor needs a small table atleast tho thats rougth
