Hi there, we are trying to improve our setting for live courses on our channel and Im stuck with audio. Right now we use some wireless microphones that sync into one receiver. That receiver we plug it through a kind of splitter ( one audio in, up to 4 headphones out) and then to the 2 video capture cards ( giving each card direct sound) the problem is we get noise. I just bought a mixing table similar to yours but it has only one audio output! How do I connect that to the 2 video recording cards?? Thanks a lot in advance!

Honestly, we can't give you an answer as we would need to see your setup. It all depends on your wireless system, what mics, and cables you are using (a splitter cable is never a good idea by the way). during the live stream, how do you switch between cameras? Is it through OBS that you control the Black magic box connections?

You have to do it manually via the Blackmagic front panel to switch camera angles. Then you can switch scenes through OBS.

Will the black magic work well with a Datavideo SE-2200 ?? I have 4 cameras and 2 Computer inputs. All able to be Broadcast.

We have guests on our podcast regularly. How could you use this exact same set up and implement a guest who would have to be piped in? We have used zoom up to this point but the quality of video and audio is limited. Thanks in advance. And your set up is fantastic

You could take a phone call on your mobile or computer, then route the audio through a mixer, and manage everything on your computer. The web caster automatically sync the audio with video, and there is no adjustment made at the mixer.. overall if I replace the presenter with the ATEM MINI or any of switch the same will apply... would love to see that setup with a mini... thanks very informative

No, but you should have a manual with the Blackmagic you can flick through. Alternatively, see if you can find videos like this one with the same camera make and model to see how others addressed the problem.

It's absolutely possible! There are plenty of USB mics you can find on the market now that provide great quality and plug straight into your laptop, no mixer needed. The Rode Podcaster is a great example.

GoPros are usually standalone devices, so nothing is hooked up to them. If you want a multi-camera setup for live shows, then I'd recommend how we have it in the video using the Blackmagic box: radio.co/blog/how-to-livestream-to-facebook-and-youtube

Great video here, exactly what I was looking for. I got 2 questions! If you wanted to send the audio from your mixer to the blackmagic smart panel, could you run from the XLR main outs and using a converter, run the signal to an RCA at the blackmagic unit? My mixer doesn't have a RCA out like yours does. Second question, in efforts to acquire more than 2 camera angles but not wanting to purchase the more expensive black magic units because $$$, could you split the audio on the way out of the mixer to run to two separate blackmagic smart panel units, and then run both units into OBS for your live stream? Or can OBS only connect to one unit at a time? Hope that makes sense! Sorry still kind of new to the whole live streaming thing. Thanks again!

1. Yes, you can use an XLR to RCA cable to plug directly into the Blackmagic Web Presenter. But we recommend using high quality cables to get the best sound. 2. Blackmagic have released the ATEM Mini camera switcher (which costs $300). That can handle 4 camera inputs and 2 audio sources, so can handle your mixers main outs. We think that would be more cost effective than buying another Blackmagic web presenter box - and you can use it with OBS.

Great video guys! I have just invested in the same setup (using two GH5 cameras and a Zoom F8 for the separate audio feed) but experiencing really bad sync issues with the audio and video when coming into OBS. Any advice on solving that problem?

To fix bad syncing, go into your advanced audio settings within OBS, then change the sync offset. Any other questions about your station then drop our team a message at studio@radio.co.

Can you suggest a camcorder with long-range Zoom capability that also works well with low lighting, please? We are currently using the Canan R800. It works well close. If the camera is 50ft away, the quality is lost. I need a camera to put 50 to 100 feet away and zoom into someone's face and not lose the image's quality.

Hi David, I don't know if we can recommend any camcorders that provide that level of clarity and detail, but we would say that either a FullFrame DSLR or Mirrorless Camera with a 70-200mm lens could be what you're looking for.

I use to stream sports. I want to use a PC or iPad to mix at least 2 cameras (dsrl) and a Web CAM 1080p, a wireless mike and a lavalier for guest. May you help me? Streaming vía Facebook, youtube and/or ustream

Using OBS (as we mention in the video), add an audio input capture to a scene. This can be your mixer for example so you have control over what your listeners hear. Very cool setup there, :) i will say my setup its much more simple, :) just have a small audio interface on my desk, a elgato pci-e to recording the output from my sony a6300 camara, but ofc i know we can se a big diff between my videos and your videos 100% :) but i'm a software developer and i'm creating guide for people so my focus are in the content but still so nice setup there :D

You switch camera from blackmagic? So you are using obs just for titles and rtmp, or you can control balckmsgic cameras from there too?

Honestly, you can use whatever camera you think is good enough! This video demonstrates a professional, high-level setup, but it's definitely not the only way to do it.

I’m putting together a set-up similar to yours for remote teaching via Zoom while the COVID-19 crisis persists: I plan to put one of my inputs (an iPad Pro screen capture) through a Blackmagic HDMI to USB Converter Mini. It’s the only way I can see to to get a second video signal into the Web Presenter. My camera is a C100 Mk II. Audio I plan to put into the Presenter XLR input via a Mix Pre-D. The Web Presenter itself will connect to a MacBook Pro via USB-of course. I have the gear on order but I keep reading old posts about audio delay issues. Was that an early bug? I wasn’t planning on using any additional software like OBS, just straight into Zoom. Do you think I’m likely to encounter audio sync issues? Sorry for all the questions! Thank you!

When we used this setup for filming we didn't encounter any audio sync issues with the video, but everyone's setup is different. Worst case scenario, if the audio isn't right then I wouldn't worry too much. Everything is fixable and there are plenty of no-nonsense guides like this to help you power through. OBS does everything without the interfaces. USB input for video and audio to laptop or pc. The "Elcheapo Behringer" mixers have USB mix output.

Surprisingly, they help a lot in such a big room, but it's still not enough to remove every reverb. We use all manner of sound treatment and even have our own sound booth which does wonders: radio.co/blog/best-sound-microphone
