Rob, thanks for the videos, I'm actually y going to start taking sports photos over the weekend. Under 13's football Saturday, rugby cup final on Sunday and a basketball game for under 15's on Wednesday. Quick question, I'm thinking of taking a 'team photo' before each game . Canon Eos 650d with a full range of lenses, but from the cheaper end. What settings would you recommend for the team photo, particularly the lens? Many thanks

Loved watching the video. Simple but it gives me a feel of how it is to take pictures at a soccer game. I do a little photography myself (in Suriname South America) and a few weeks ago I went to a friendly soccer game and took pictures. Was my first time taking pictures at a soccer game and then just as the game was going to begin it started to rain and with my entry level gear I had to hide from the rain. The second half I got some shots, but because it was clouded I had to work with slower shutter speeds so it was a challenge yet I enjoyed it. Hope someday to be able to buy some better gear, but at the moment things are really hard in my country so for now gotta work with what I have.

Greetings from Tennessee. Nice video. Know you are busy but as an amateur just learning, wondering if you would consider embedding exif info that corresponds with each photo in videos. Would be interesing to see all that goes into these shots. Also, what adjustments if any do you make shooting out of the shade. Finally, how do you edit and send to your customer from the shoot location? Thanks!

Love the BTS videos - a couple of questions: 1. How long in advance do you normally get the team sheets and the PhotoMech template from the agency? 2. Are you using your phone tethered to your laptop to send when you are pitch side?

Thanks for the video. I admire the way you set up the walk shots where it looks as if you have camera operator filming you. What are the two collapsible stool and tables you use? And you aren’t shooting tethered are you? You take the cards out from the camera and download into photomechanic by hand? Thanks

Normally I'd shoot my videos on my R6 but for this I used my DJI Osmo Action because I needed my other camera gear for the shoot

Great video. I also wanted to know approximately how many photos you sent to the team. Also. how did you shoot that game. Aperture or Manual. Auto ISO? If you can say, how much do you make for a game like that, including travel.

I probably sent about 30 during the game and then about 80 as full set afterwards. That's from several hundred actual shots during the game. I couldn't disclose my fees I'm afraid but yes I would include travel time/costs

When the camera is mounted on the monopod, it's easy to pan the camera left and right, but how about panning the camera up and down? Kind of awkward to rock the camera forward and backward on the pod.

Sports fields are flat. Long telephotos are for reaching our across the field. Not many occasions to have to tilt more than a couple of degrees. Plus they crop. Second bodies with shorter reach lenses are available and usually hanging around the photogs neck or on a waist mount.
