Professor Clyde Kruskal On Kruskal's Algorithm 

Thanks to Professor Kruskal for taking the time to do this video

who else thought in the beginning that he is the 'krushkal' who discovered the algorithm? (ps: his uncle did :) )

He both taught me a course a couple years ago, and taught my dad a course almost 40 years ago! It's a pleasant surprise to see him here too :)

Dr. Kruskal taught me algorithms > 20 years ago while I was in UMCP. It sure brings back many fond memories. Thanks for the upload!

Hey Back to Back SWE, nice upload. Prof. Kruskal is also a good lecturer. I am also from UMD (senior CS undergrad) and learned that in CMSC 351

i am glad to learn from him.

For a moment I thought it was going to be a boring video, but it was actually a concise, practical and very interesting one. It was great to learn the story, and the algorithm itself, right from one of the creator's relatives.

Glad to see Kruskal is still teaching!

But what if we have a few roads with the same cost value? Which one we should to choose?

This is what the fuck I am talking about. To preserve history/narrative like this is one of the most important aspects to learning and to our greater society. I was able to adopt the intuitive nature of this algorithm much faster than any other algorithm because I made the human connection to Professor Clyde and the narrative that he and his family is part of. Thank you for posting!

Look like a greedy algorithm, take the minimum cost path and make sure the path is not to be a cycle.
