Even though I'm a Gryffindor, when I was a kid I used to collect anything that had a Slytherin vibe to it (green and silver ornaments especially). I even wanted my room to have silver walls and a green carpet! With all that said, Slughorn's hourglass would have been the ULTIMATE Slytherin ornament for my collection. Talk about a great pride piece for Slytherins out there! :)
I have Slughorns hour glass! I bought it for my grand daughter.....it isnone of the most amazing items i have purchased yet! The packaging was outstanding and the item is incredible and oustanding! I love looking at it each time i go in my grand daughters room!
That sand was going pretty slowly, I guess you need more than one person to make it a deep conversation. I wonder why they didn’t make the sand white like in the movie.
i had been looking at this hourglass for a couple years now, just hadn’t gotten it because of the price. but this year, for christmas, my mom surprised me with it! it’s truly a wonderfully piece! 😭🖤
This video makes me sad because my sister bought me this for my birthday a few years back. I loved it! I had it sitting my desk. Someone knocked on the other side of my bedroom wall which knocked a picture frame off of my wall, it knocked the hourglass off of the desk, which fell and shattered...at 2 am. So there I was at 2 am devastated that it broke, cleaning up glass and sand from my carpet. 😭 Anyway, all of that to say, this replica was beautiful...while I had it.
Your sad story made me think of a gorgeous pottery bowl I had. The wind literally blew my casement window out of its frame and it crashed onto the bowl... I hope you get another Hourglass in the future

It is nice. Good idea/item. The website says it is calibrated to measure approx one hour. I’d be interested to know what it’s made out of. It’s rather bright for me. I think I’d like a duller green for the sand or maybe a different color like the color of desert sand or maybe black. I like it but definitely not enough pay the cost they’re advertising for it.

Most of my collection is made up of Nobel Collection items , everything is so beautiful. I love my hourglass its one of my favourite pieces 🥰🥰 that and my full size replica sword of Gryffindor !
I have this item as well and love it! But... I was also slightly disappointed with the visible glue. For the price of the item I would have liked it to be secured not so obviously. In saying that, I love....love... love this item!

This is one of my favourite pieces in my collection, its so delicate but so well made. I was so excited to see you doing a review of it! I got mine from a magical shop in the UK, Oliver's Brighton, Oliver told me its about an hour -ish for the sand to go through, its not entirely accurate!

Peter, how high it is? I love it, and for a long time, I concider buying it, however my shelfs are horizontal and not vertical and I am not sure that it will fit( as it is very expencive and I live in Canada). Still for a Slytherin( As I am) this will be very important to represent our house
I normally love your channel and videos, just a little surprised you didn't already have this as part of your collection. It is a nice piece and I've got it as well. But I did want to point out that it's not in Slughorn's classroom, it's in Slughorn's study, i.e. his living quarters. 2 very different places.
Does anyone have any ideas of some sort of a stand to put it in? I live in California, aka earthquake prone. I'm Slytherin and I already own this hourglass, but I'm deathly afraid of displaying it in case we have an earthquake. There are options to use putty to connect it to a surface and stay stationary (like my mom does with her lladro collection), but I want to be able to actually pick it up, turn it, and see the hour pass by! Any ideas?
The Nobel Collection is the most amazing selection on Harry Potter items......each Nobel Collection piece is beautifully done and well worth the money!
My very first noble collection item was Harry’s wand. As I got older I acquired dumbledors elder wand and the marauders map and final challenge chess set. Now I have ordered a butt load order of the hourglass, slytherins locket, griffindors sword, and the sorcerers stone. Next on my hit list will be Newt schimmanders wand, voldemorts wand, Sirius blacks wand, and maybe Nicholas flamels wand.
