On some garage door units after pressing the button for programming and it flashes, you will have to press the learning button on the physical opener and you have 30 seconds to press the programmed key inside the Atlas to verify.
I got the Atlas 2019, i dont get the flashing orange light, i get the solid green. Ive even tried the pressing 1 and 3, and get the solid orange, until i let go, nothing happens
Reset first! - This video doesn't say that if the unit has already been programmed, you have to perform a reset first. - Hold 1 and 3 in for 10 seconds. Then follow the video.
So the instructions in this video didn’t work. My manual says to point my garage door clicker at the STEERING WHEEL while programming. My steering console made a noise and then my garage door button worked. So the steering wheel has an important sensor for this process. In the video he pointed his clicker at the buttons he was programming. That’s not the method at least with a 2019 SE.
Thanks for the comment. As far as I know garage door remotes are directionless (meaning; there is no way to “point” the remote at anything.). The important step in programming your vehicle is that the original remote you are emulating be in the car in order to insure that the car picks up a good signal to emulate.
Dennis Hynes - If it seems to program correctly but does not open the door, your garage door motor may have a rolling code remote. In this case you will need to press a small button on the garage door motor unit, and then push the button in the car within a few seconds. This should sync your car with the opener. If that does not work then check the instructions for your particular garage door motor manufacturer to program a new remote.
