Bet that was a fun job. The shoddy wiring, the reprogramming, the fact the panel needed to be replaced. I would be having fun with that job and my OCD would make me want to completely re-wire the panel to fix it back to how it was supposed to be. I wouldn’t be surprised if the bad wiring was part of the reason the panel lost its programming. However, i think it may have to do with the flash memory or ram chip being on its way out.
8088 is old, we had the 8500 that we manufactured with an 8085 chip, we would network it to a zenith z100 terminal that ran on an 8088 chip. In 1992 they moved towards microcontrollers
Still do but don't have a DOS computer. I still perfer the dip switches, seems like there were some bugs when using the computer. It's nice to be able to upload and look at what's there but sometimes funny things happen when you download.
