The problem with most of us Kenyans is we like criticising. This is a project that has been on paper for over a decade and has only taken the NMS months to bring it to life. Why can't we just say congratulations for the hard work. For the 1st time we are seeing projects coming to life without over priced budgets. Congratulations NMS we appreciate all the hard work. Kazi na iendelee

It is true they Think even buying is cheaper. If thats out mind we will never grow. We must make use of what we have. The Most important thing is to improve economy in terms of infrastructure and to improve the life of our low income earners. Pple must learn to appreciate every little thing we get. Infact Kenya you are lucky despite corruption you can see progress.

it really is. when i went to buy my house here in cape town in the days before uber, the head of the estate agent's company didn't believe i could afford the house because i didn't have a car. the funny thing is ... not only did i not have a car, but i was paying cash for a house in a neighborhood where.... i would never need to buy another car in my life, because my house was close to two train lines, a main matatu line, and the bus rapid transit main line.

One thing you can not take away from President Uhuru is his determination to improve Kenya's infrastructure. As much as i don't agree with him when it comes to politics, i think on this front he has done well. Imagine he has revived the old meter gauge railway, Imagine the billions that could have gone to waste on the railyway plant had he not intervened. He has already revived the Nairobi - Nanyuki railway that cuts accross 5 counties and now as can been in the above he is renovating and as well as expanding the Nairobi railway commuter network.

The engines and wagons need to be upgraded with good designs from Germany or Japan, but built under licence in Kenya. You don't have to import the complete train, but build the chassis, bodies and other simple parts locally. This will create jobs in the local and national economy. Also look into electrification of the metro rail lines.

They should have made a safe temporary disembarkment area while they fix the platforms. It is not safe or convenient for passengers to step onto the railway tracks.

A sigh of relief, from the usual political bickering. One might be forgiven for imagining that things are not happening in Kenya. Thank you Chams media, for highlighting the positive developments, taking place in the republic.

I will still advice them to allow the Syokimau hourly train to stop , pick and drop people at Donholm , this way they will make the system more active and help a lot of people . Donholm is a centre of its own. All most everyone in Eastlands pass by it or can quickly access it. They should do this unless they are trying to argue that the standard of the couch is not meant for Eastlando residence .Of what point would it be passing by Donholm every one hour and its not picking or droping any one there , and its a very busy centre.

Railway training school, I believe if you really mean it you could design and build bigger faster and cheaper trains, it’s not that complicated really, they might not rival the shikansen but with time... they will. Trust me, you’ve got what it takes

The trains need to be much more frequent than 1x per hour in order to compete with matatus.
