Hi Philippe, Theater mode is a specialized operating mode designed for systems that include both a two-channel setup and a home theater processor. To enable it, connect the left and right channel outputs of your surround sound processor to the Theater input on the Progression Preamplifier. This input bypasses the preamplifier’s volume control, fixing it at a set level (shown as 70 on the meters), and instead uses your surround sound processor’s volume control. Consequently, the front panel and remote volume controls on the preamplifier are disabled. This setup allows you to connect your two-channel sources to the Progression Preamplifier and your theater sources to the surround processor, ensuring that only one volume control is active for either music or movie playback. Additionally, the left and right main channels of a video source benefit from the superior circuitry of the Progression Preamplifier.
