I just about fell out of my chair when she claimed that the Great Commission was added at Nicaea in AD 325. Wow. I have my reasons for believing that liberal scholarship is at an all-time low right now but she really went off the reservation with that one.
Even if it was lacking in the earliest manuscripts, and they're so fragmentary that the entire ending of parts of Matthew are missing. However every manuscript that has the ending of Matthew has the Great Commission as part of it. And there are references in the early Church fathers to words to that effect. Even if they didn't derive it from Matthew they sure seem to echo it. Does she seriously think Justin Martyr was alive in 325?
Let’s just pretend that all of the manuscripts and other church discourse written does not quote this in Matthew. What about Acts 1:6-8, Mark 15:16-18, Luke 24:46-49 and Romans 10:15?
I was brought up in church but started attending a church 15 years ago that does expository preaching. Wow, did it really open my eyes and gave me a new love for Bible study. Unfortunately people that are new in their walk do not know what to ask or challenge. I just thank God that my pastor introduced me to the pastors you have mentioned on your channel, MacArthur, Lawson etc.

Excellent question! If the Bible has been perverted by corrupt teachings, additions, etc. then the very foundation of her authority and everything else comes crashing down. . "Progressive Xtianity" (a misnomer if ever there was one!) basically believes and teaches 2 things: 1) "Love is love" and 2) Be a good person to everyone. In short, it's just another flavor of the countless false world religions. We really shouldn't call it "progressive Christianity;" at best its a social justice program that adopts some trappings of Christianity, much like Shriners and other Masonic orders adopt some of the trappings of Islam. Sure, they do good works, but ultimately they lack the saving fundamentals of the Gospel.

I wondered too. With her later statement alluding to 1493, l assume she is decrying the "invasion" of the Americas by white Europeans who were supposedly doing it to evangelize the Natives, when in fact, they were just searching for treasure and trade routes.

He took "Philistine" as the basis for Palestine, a sort of in-your-face mocking of the Jews.

This commentary is exactly correct in that this female pastor is uneducated in theology but is well trained in interpreting the Scriptures according to her desire as to what she wants to be true....which is universalism.
Well, I have two problems with this. 1. People call her Pastor, to me she is Dawn. 2. People call her a Christian. I'm sick and tired of people twisting God's word around to fit in with what they believe. Obviously the people that go to her church don't read their bibles.
Had another comment here I believe, but I digress. Most of the modern Bibles have a note stating that the earliest manuscripts do not have Mark 16:9-20; NIV, NAS, CEV, NRSV, Complete Jewish Bible and The Scriptures. Textus Receptus includes them, I believe that Codex Sinaiticus and Codex Vaticanus do not. I do not own a Bible with The Great Commission missing from Mark 16, all of them contain some note.
One note when you mentioned the didache scholars now date it to the late first century. So the Trinitarian formula for baptism and the great commission can be dated to the first century. Note also scholarship also states that the author or authors of the didache relied heavenly on Mathew. Blessings

You know what red flags I have right off the bat without even having to do much research on history and correct theolgy? She's a woman pastor!! Now what is it the Apostle Paul says about women in the church? 1 Timothy 2:10-14 (KJV) But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

Any time the word "progressive" enters into the discussion, we shouldn't proceed to the word "Christianity." I've started using the phrase "Progressive Religionists" to describe them instead. More accurate and less confusing to those who wonder which 'brand' of Christianity is true. The truth is, there is only ONE Christian church: there is no "progressive" church or "conservative" church: there is THE church, period. Yes, different denominations exist, and while they have distinct characteristics and looks, they still believe in all of the core teachings of Christianity. I'm not going to call a group Christian when they are clearly rejecting the Bible and Christ as THE way, THE truth, and THE life and substitution man-made good works and right political views for the way to salvation. . If anyone claims Christianity had to "progress", that tells me the person never believed in the full sufficiency of Christ's sacrifice. It's usually just a thinly disguised social justice/welfare organization that adopts the trappings of Christianity, but that ultimately rejects the Gospels. Specific signs of progressive religionists include: . 1) Not believing the entire Bible is the inspired, inerrant word of God. They pick the parts they like and find compatible with their political worldview and lifestyle, and they treat all the rest as outdated or behind the times or claim it was made up later, or just flat out ignore those things. 2) Rejecting Biblical teachings on issues of morality, sexuality, etc as "not up with the current times." As if God was not the author of morality throughout ALL times and ALL places! Similar to #1, but more specifically with social issues such as abortion, marriage, etc. 3) "Love is love" / "All you need is love"... you can definitely tell it when progressive religionists are fans of the Beatles! I've even heard some "worship" band at these churches play rock songs during service. I'm all for using either traditional or quality contemporary worship music, but playing John Lenin's "Imagine" (a pagan song if ever there was!) isn't sacred worship. 4) "All religions are basically the same"....when they are clearly not! Serious believers of any religion reject this teaching. Telling a devout Muslim that Islam is "basically the same" as Christianity will get your head cut off in some parts of the world, or you'll be laughed out of the mosque in more civilized parts. All you have to do is examine the core teachings of each religion, and it is immediately obvious that Christianity, Islam, and Hinduism are not the same...not even close. Other than doing good to people, they do not share the same God/gods, they do not share the same way that imperfect man is made right with holy God/Allah/Nirvana, and a host of other incompatibilities, any one of which is enough to say, "These are not all the same....not even close!" . In the end, we're called to stand on the truth of the Bible and teach it's clear Word to all nations. I reject any teaching that says Christ's sacrifice was insufficient and that we have to "progress" to some new teaching that these false prophets have concocted recently.

Maybe it’s because she thinks it will offend other religions. Christianity is offensive to many because it commands them to repent; something she clearly doesn’t want to do herself. Not to mention that to be a Christian is to suffer for Him; especially after preaching the gospel. Perhaps she desires to avoid all losing confrontation just like most progressives. It’s really sad. We should pray for her.

Why would listen to a woman who is out of God's order by being a pastor? This is why it is so important to know God and scripture for yourself and to be lead by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the author of Scripture and who is better to give us understanding and insight to scripture then He?
What the actual heck? She's out of order by trying to be in a man's role according to Scripture. So many women who want to be men because they believe men have more power. Men are the head. Women are the neck and the neck turns the head. It's all in the approach. Read the Scriptures. The Lord didn't leave out women. Women have more influence than they know.
