Nice! Always great content, and fun to watch you blast some hits. Thanks for including us in the lineup. Your advice at the end was on point: make sure you are using the correct size thumb guard. I don't know what size you were using, but we offer three sizes, S,M,L so players can find the right one based on personal preference. We have a few MLB players in the 195-205lb weight range that go with the medium ThumbPRO for a locked in performance fit. As far as increased bat speed, let me address that as well. We say "up to a 10-15% increase in bat speed." Generally speaking those results are from players that have not yet fully dialed in their technique and are still holding the bat deep in the palm with a tense "death grip". For those players, getting the bat forward can indeed improve their bat speed. Not surprised that an elite level, big swinging, nuke dropping guy such as yourself did not see an improvement. You are already dialed in.👍 Love the channel!

I've used a pro hitter for a bit now. Doesn't take that long to get used to. I will say though, when they say 'increases bat speed' I don't think they're referring to swing speed that you'd measure with like a blast motion. Pretty sure they're speaking(inaccurately) about what it IS doing though. That thing is something that seems kind of obvious in terms of how the bat sits in your hand. Without a the guard, your bat sits more neutral/perpendicular to your arms. If you put your hands in the exact same position with the thumb guard on, you'll notice the barrel actually sits a bit farther ahead of where it was before. So it's not that it increases bat speed, but if you're struggling because you're swinging just a touch too much DOWN on the ball, this could help you instead get closer to hitting a line-drive/fly ball. It's more complicated than that since it does change your swing in general since the weight also shifts forward, but that's what I have been telling people. Definitely isn't 'swing speed', but it can functionally act like it sometimes.

I couldn’t believe how much the Pro Hitter helped my hands feel after long, high velocity cage days (200+ swings, 80-85 mph.) Without a thumb guard I would end the day with extremely sore claw hands. With it, it just felt like another workout. Highly recommended.

My 9 and 10 year old use the Thumbpro youth models and aren't afraid to swing at those inside pitches that typically ring the hands. The hole size is smaller for sure, but they stretch out.

I’ve been using the ProHitter for a few seasons of mens league baseball, I like it. My advice is buy two because they are easy to drop and lose. Also buy the bright colors so you can find it easily when you do drop it🤣⚾️👍

I use a pro hitter, and I can honestly say that it does make a difference in my batting. Consistently hitting barrel and also making the bat feel more comfortable in my hand while swinging it. I did notice Will that you were more consistent with the pro hitter vs. the other thumb guards.

My son loves his ThumbPro been using it for about 3-4 seasons now we got a few back when they were $20 they run decent sales from time to time. Has helped him with hand placement and does help a bit with sting and are pretty durable. He also likes the ThumbPro over the Prohitter because it stays in place and doesn't slide around he leaves it stuck on his batting gloves so its always ready to go. ThumbPro is a small family run business and really nice to deal with and talk to.
@ivanjohnson9244
@ivanjohnson9244 20 дней назад
Shop smart! We use the ThumbPro and have never purchased unless on sale. Buy the right size and the fit is better than ProHitter, you can't even tell it's there. The bat speed marketing is because of the difference it can make for some due to holding the bat properly wearing it. You naturally have a gap there on your top hand if not wearing it. Many hitters grip the bat wrong, improving grip strength in the bottom two fingers helps as well.

Back in the mid 90's when I was a teenager my coach introduced us to these. They were called "Direct Protect" back then. He said they helped put the bat handle in the proper place (in your fingers) as your hands grew and became more adult sized. Kids with their small hands have the tendency to hold the bat handle in their palms and don't get proper knuckle alignment (box knuckles vs. door knockers lining up) which causes rolling over the wrists and "casting". As my hands grew and I got used to holding the bat in my fingers I no longer needed to use it. We never even knew they were supposed to help with sting at all as those older 1 piece bats would ring you up like the liberty bell when you get it on the handle or off the end regardless of any rubber piece on your thumb.

pro hitter has been around longer, so they have been the more established choice over the years. thumbpro is definitely getting more popular though. i think because of the saddle type design which keeps it pretty much always in place and feels more comfortable i prefer it. i literally just keep it on my glove and dont really take it off unless i am showing it to someone.

@stg2125
@stg2125 20 дней назад
These don't increase the sweet spot size. That's the main difference between the $100 and $300 bats. It's also a lot easier to hit with $100 bat off a pitching machine/BP when the ball is coming in the same every time and you don't have to adjust to movement.

Seems like you got around on the ball more with none and were a tiny bit more laggy with the bigger two on. Could have just been pitch placement though? If so, it might help ppl get more power to the middle of their swing and the middle of the field if they have a hard time with being ahead too much. What do you think?

when you see about 7 or more guys in every MLB lineup using the pro hitter or thumbpro, you have to at least figure out what they are about. not just for sting prevention, but for how it makes you hold and use the bat throughout your swing. and what movements it promotes and what it tries to prevent.

@MoshiCola
@MoshiCola 8 дней назад
You guys are gripping your bat wrong if you think you need these products. Your bat handle doesn’t go in your palms. It goes in the first groove of your fingers. A small difference but you can test it yourself and see how much better your barrel control is. It’s physically harder for someone to take a bat out of your hands when you do this. The fact that the bat is more secure makes it easier for you to hit the ball harder. Also you’d think sting would be worse but you actually end up with less sting since you’re giving the bat less of a chance to vibrate in the first place
