Here is proof that if you have a metal lathe you can make the rest of the tools needed for your workshop. I am pretty certain that who ever came up with that saying never anticipated the efforts of Make It Extreme.Not in their wildest dreams.We regular Subscribers know better.Make It Extreme never does things by half measure.

There is a theory that says that world war 2 was triggerred mostly becasue of tools like lathes and milling machines.Industrialisation became too easy suddenly.
@Ritalie
@Ritalie 4 года назад
This is amazing. Yes a Lathe and Milling Machine are needed to exist on Earth. Otherwise you are stuck buying everything new for millions of dollars. Unfortunately a good lathe cost several billion dollars, and millions of dollars to have it shipped to your house. A milling machine is about 1 trillion dollars. Then you gotta have a shop, which costs another 10 trillion dollars.

Huh. When I saw the thumbnail, my first thought was that you were going to use this machine to automate screening the ball mill's output, but this is probably more important. As usual for your creations, this thing looks pretty well engineered and a tad overkill, both of which are why I follow you guys.

Chris Russell Well, the reason he gets away with it most of the time is because the thickness of the materials he uses usually allows him to afford quite a large margin of error I think.
@Smurphenstein
@Smurphenstein 5 лет назад
@Chris Russell I was thinking something similar. Too many expensive machines for the novice along with no real explanations of why or how but the professionals will see a better way to do it so really no good for either. Then the music fit only for a transformers fight scene really annoyed me too.
@thegoodearth7
@thegoodearth7 5 лет назад
@Chris Russell Knit-picking along these lines (non-verifiable statements) is not very becoming for such a self-proclaimed engineer like yourself. Please put the url for us to actually see what you do . . . that is the appropriate follow-up for people who like to call an obviously gifted fabricator out. Unless it is actually something else . . . like jealousy . . . that is actually the engine driving your statements. In that case, why not just be honest about it rather than laundering your insecurity through a mountain of theoretical quality control diatribe.
@v8trauma
@v8trauma 5 лет назад
@Chris Russell well I have seen them close up and as you say, a tyre is the way to go. Conveyor belting works well too. Lots of people love this chanel and get upset when it's pointed out that the stuff demonstrated is sub parr. Basically they feel upset that they're not bright enough to see this tat for what it is and don't much care for the anyone who points it out. I particularly like the comments about showing your own video to prove well known facts. In my case, I'm too busy doing stuff based on sound engineering principles to bother posting a video about it, I suspect you're in the same boat.

that one is a verry nice build , hope youre able to get more of those plastic bottles as they do wear out over time the machine might work even better if you add some water and maibe some washing machine type soap (doesnt foam) , it degreases the metal trown in and keeps the dust down , if you spray in water over the top and have a point in the bottom to drain it out it might work even better as it flushes out the fine particles , i seen machines like these give metal a polished look , i think that depends on the medium trown in there

When you are inserting the bearings into the hubs like you did on this video, how much smaller is the hub than the bearing itself?
@asakayosapro
@asakayosapro 2 года назад
I would think that in particular, it would be a press fit, which would be having both parts have the exact same measurement or even a few thousandths of an inch of extra just to keep the parts together via compression. There's various ways to put together parts like these.. you have slip fit, press fit, and shrink fit, with the latter two having zero clearance between the mating parts, but the latter using thermal expansion to allow the parts to either be slip or press fitted, and once the temperature expansion is gone, the two parts are fitted so tightly that they might as well have been welded, unless the part breaks from excessive compression stress.
