Did a trip from Berlin to Denmark.. 659 km total, and it was at 130 kmh when allowed... average speed ended at 93 kmh.. consumption was 17.2 kwh/100 for total trip.. we did charge for 18 min near Lübeck.. left with 100% and arrived with 8%.. 20" wheels version
I lived in Germany for almost 7 years. On the Autobahn sometimes, I'd WISH my car were electric, because it was loud and stressed me out. Back in the 1980s, of course, this seemed impossible even in the foreseeable future. In the late 1980s, the automotive press gave me "visions" of fuel cells and gas turbines for the magical, green...andf quiet-driving...future. It's wonderful to see you young people enjoying that dream at long last! I live now on a tiny island in Hawai'i where I just ride a pedal bicycle everywhere; I've been car-free for over a decade. However...I certainly miss long road trips like yours. Much aloha to all of you out there in Deutschland!
Getting my id7 next week Thursday; my first full electric. Live near Antwerp, haven’t seen one on the road yet here in Belgium. Curiuos about the car. Follow your videos with much interest.
Continuing the discussion from the other video here. I reached out to someone at VW in Germany working on the ID7 project and was told that the GTX WLTP figures are correct due to changes in the front bumper design. It’s more aggressive in styling than the ID4/ID5 and has a bigger negative impact on the consumption. He also mentioned that the Pro S had additional range extending measures not present on the normal Pro, without mentioning what they are. Seems like I’ll get a Pro S then.
@@imhotbhqf thanks for the replay, will be interesting to see if this is true in reel life comparison. I've already ordered a GTX Tourer and I'm not worried about the range, its still better than my ID4 and charging speed is great as well
i cant wait when you will test the pro s version of the id.7 with 86 kwh battery. that i want order after 5 months. i think you will reach 600km with 110 km/h and 450 km with 130 km/h
Unbelievable. You stop at 350km so you didn t get 400km but you stopped to charge and then you could reach teoretically the 400 score. So this is a failure but teoretically maybe you could. But you didn t. This is so weird, as usual
Yes, I think this hypothetical calculation could have been done with only 50km 😜 Usually the first percent points gets you further than the last and how would it handle being low on battery in the end?
@@sharkflower123VW has linear battery calculation. The last 20% are the same as the first. Every test of VW, Skoda, Cubra, Audi MEB car shows that the last 4 years. Chris tests this also in its ID.7. So 428km is realistic.
So this means with ac on in the summer and 120km/h as speed for long way holiday trips the same distance i hope. That would be nice to Turkiye from the Netherlands 😂
I hope it will. My 57kwh TM3 SR will do 400 @ 130. When EVs kan charge 10-80% in 10mins and gain 400kms @ 130 in that time, range and charge times will be of a lot less interest. We are close..
@@anonimxsidecas are you saying the TM3 SR will not do 400kms @ 130kmh? It does - all day long :) If I do 150-160 range will drop to 300. @110 it will do 450-ish and if I go max 90, range increase to 550-600. All on 18" summer tires - 20degrees celsius.
Have you experienced the booming noise on the Autobahn that Autogefühl describes in their review of the ID.7 Kombi ? Thomas suggests it's due to the 20" wheels on the Press car and that 19" might be better.
Looking forward to the test with 20” wheels! I drove west across Denmark last week with max speed allowed (130), but also interrupted by traffic. I drove against pretty strong winds, and in rain, and had a usage of 21,5 kWh/100km. Ouch!
VW gives some false numbers, much more false than Tesla ! A real test, not like you did, is: a family going on vacation, composed of 4 adults and a child, trunk full, air conditioning, outside temperature 30 degrees, speed 130 km/h. Then we find out what and how much a 5 meter long electric car like the ID7 can do, which is bought precisely to be able to transport several people in good conditions! If you are alone and drive alone, I don't think it is normal to buy this car!
