Odonata is the order of Dragonflies including Damselflies and refers to the large teeth-like mandibles of both larva and the adult. The distribution of many species of the over 105 odonata found in the Top End is quite patchy. Recently I had a look at Leepoint Dam constructed to collect and store surface run-off water for irritation. I was interested to see if there are any dragonflies at all at this site and this video covers what I found. I also tried my hand on slow motion video for the first time. My next video will be on an encounter with one of largest predator in the Top End the Floodplain Goanna.
