You are an excellent teacher. Verbal instructions are very clear and with the demonstrations are extremely effective for auditory and visual learners. I appreciate the warnings for possible safety issues and how you identify and define the different elements so both beginners and more experienced sewists can be successful. For an informal evaluation, my favorite principal would leave us with 2 “glows” and a “grow” (area for some improvement). I can’t imagine that you could have anything to improve! Thank you so much for the detailed explanation & tips for getting great mitered corners on a vinyl zip bag! I have made a few, and ALWAYS end up with ridiculous corners no matter how careful I'm being! I LOVE that you showed how to tuck the wobbly excess in to make a tight corner - THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Excellent video on bag making tips! I have been wanting to make my own bags, I can make them with ease of confidence after watching your videos. You gave an excellent tip on how pin your needles when sewing your pieces, I learned that tip from my Grandmother and it was also taught in my Home Economics class in junior high school. Hi Cory…..just found you and your tips and advice are invaluable. Re the zipper, I recently used a By Annie zipper for a quilted bag (which I flunked). I sewed too close to the zipper making it inoperable. Obviously, I did not allow for the heavier zipper pull. Thank goodness for the seam ripper! Your additional interfacing makes so much sense…will try your suggestions. PS..I am in the north county STL area..hope to meet you at Colour and Cotton sometime! Will keep in touch. KB
Your video is very specific and helped me so much. I do wonder though, how you put such a long zipper on and did not address how to adjusted it to the bag size. I am new to your channel, so maybe you have a video on zipper sizes. I will look. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
You don't adjust it. When you trim up your bag you just cut off the excess zip being sure not to cut off the zipper pull. I always use a long zip so I have plenty of wiggle room. A too long zip is easier to insert than one that is the perfect size. Hope that helps!. I plan to do a project bag construction video soon so you can see my process from startto finish.

Wow what a great project bag tutorial! I could tell you were a teacher with how you explained everything in such perfect detail. I’ve made a few bags but I seem to do them in spurts so I’m always feeling like a “ newbie” ! Your explanation on interfacing was amazing ! I never knew there were so many types! I’ve done my bags via Elizabethanncanstitch videos and she has good directions. But yours was super ! Thank you so much I’ll be trying to make a few bags in the near future and will be referencing this tutorial ! Happy sewing !

I am watching and taking notes. I have sewn a handful of bags with zippers and I hope to use the tips here to continue to improve. I'm not sure if I missed it or not but did you share what sewing machine you have? I have a basic one a friend gave me and I might like to upgrade at sometime
The machine on this video is a Brother project runway edition. I have had it about 10 years or so. I would recommend a Brother or Janome as a good starter machine. I have been working on a Bernina that I bring home for the summer from work.
Cory when you were finger pressing in the final bag part, you said that surface on your ironing board was very helpful. What is that matt type thing you had on there please. Thanks.
