I wouldn't mind them having a more arcade style game along side Project Cars, the NFS Shift games were fantastic for what they were. It seems as though they are just going in a completely different direction now, and weirdly competing with Dirt, another Codemasters game.

I mean the franchise was never successful to begin with, so I kind of understand why they'd be trying things out.

@@tiagomorgado3798 And it's nothing like this....from someone who's been playing on & off since A2, and just stopped playing 9 a few days ago, cuz I'm more or less about done with it for a few months at the very least. And that on PC, mind you (which pc3 also looks better on)....all I see is a generic comment. first it was mobile that was used, but ofc after the weirdos realized what CSR racing 2 actually looks like on max, it came down to Asphalt, which sounds even funnier.....childish sillines is all it boils down to. This, WRC 9, Dirt, grid and some older/release racing titles are a very fun list/catalogue of games to enjoy, especially during this kind of period.

It's a great game, you want a SIM, play on pc. First 2 games were completely unplayable on consoles with controllers.

Not only looks, controls like a NFS too. A shame.

Yeah! Of the 50 plus people on my xbox friends list who play Project cars 2 regularly , ive seen 3 of them on this game and only one has persisted playing since launch.

I can if I want a race sim I climb in my 14 bmw m4 and go for a track day if I want to play a vid game I want to have fun and this was fun I actually can play it with a keyboard try playing pc2 with a keyboard

Not that codemasters are doing things the right way in any way, but this game have been in the works since way before codemasters stepped in and bought slightly mad. Slightly mad made a crap game themselves with 100% rehashed content from PC2 and a couple of new cars, basically.

@@mrdoed grid 2019 looks great and has a great post processing going for it but this just looks like a phone game.

@@coffee7180 Yes, if you look at some comparison videos on youtube comparing PC2 and PC3 you'll notice that they have basically changed or added nothing to the engine in itself, and the performance notes from this video seems to me that they haven't really made any improvements there either. And talking about codemasters, sure Grid looks nice, but it isn't really that fun to play as the previous Grid-titles unfortunately.

This. We dont need yet another arcade racer. Why did they betray the kickstarters, who funded their company so could develop a brand new (at the time) engine for realistic driving, by turning the series into arcade trash? Make it a new game under a different IP if they really wanted to ruin it all.

@@JoshQuake Nothing wrong with a "yet another arcade racer" because we've been getting way too many simulators over the past couple of years imho, which is fine by itself, but I don't want the racing game genre to be the same thing. This game just screwed up big time by not making it a spin-off, but as the main entry in the series which is just wrong.

Video game noob here. What's the diff between forza 7 and horizon 4?

@@Sh-hg8kf Forza Motorsport, is the more simulation race track game. 7 is the last game in the series Forza Horizon is built off the same engine but is an open world arcade racer, but has handling model closer to Forza Motorsport/Gran Turismo than Need for Speed. In Horizon you and your friends can all join i a party and drive around the map, do various challenges etc. This might sound weird but Horizon is like a car game made by car people that is a celebration of everything around cars. Its sounds odd I know but thats what it feels like, it makes Horizon 4 in many peoples opinion the best car game released in over a decade

@Orion Pax don't put drive club in the same category to gt sport or forza 7, does games run on 60 fps with a lot of physic simulation and a high number of AI players.

They only do that for great creations. They obviously get money, so they talk at least kind of good about this game. You can see though that they have no enthusiasm for it in exactly that low level coverage.

They always try their best to make you look at the silver lining. Only time I've seen them be outright critical is when talking about corporate and marketing decisions by hardware manufacturers and publishers.

I love longer videos as well, but this game's scope and public perception probably doesn't justify the time investment that a longer and more in-depth analysis would take. Regardless, you can tell Tom has put a considerable amount of time into this game because there are a number of cars he shows in the video that you'll only unlock really far along into the career mode. I've been playing this game close to 20 hours and he's using cars I haven't even unlocked myself yet.

They don't need to go in depth with this, as they don't need to zoom in to highlight the jaggies lol. (I still like the game for the custom races.)

All 4 PROJECT GOTHAM RACING games can do unanimously better than PROJECT CARS 3 and GT7 sadly.

Not everyone is a sim racer with a complete wheel pedal setup.

Even with a monster game computer game looks like complete trash.

Everybody says that there is a ton of arcade racers but where are they? Everything has been a Sim for like the last 10 years.

@@Axuled OK but the number one thing it does wrong is the handling/physics, shift 2 has terrible physics, like awful. And that's the number 1 thing a racer must do right before anything else.

It's trash pure trash you can get grid 2019 ultimate edition for under 10 bucks and all updates. It looks and performs a lot better than this trash and yes its a great game now.

Agreed 100%. It's gross that SMS betrayed their entire fanbase and crowdfunders (which are the only reason the studio and this engine exists) by turning Project Cars into an arcade racer. Make it a new IP ffs.

ouch. in all fairness that happens in forza horizon 4 too. i mean, not to that degree. there's a couple of cars where the details on the dashboard z-fight like that.

@@HiN00bs12 Waht are you talking about. Forza looks great at 4K / 60 (just watch the Digital Foundry video about it) and actually, there are a lot of things that have changed since FM4. So much that some people actually prefer Forza Motorsport 4 over 7, so the changes are not all positive. The weather system alone makes a whole lot of a difference.

@@1RolandG70 Half the point here is PCars3 is not a Sim, people buying this are inherently looking for an Arcade experience, and even if Dirt 5 leans toward being a rally sim (though not nearly as much as the Dirt Rally games, there is a difference), there is no question the best "Arcade Racing Game" coming in fall 2020 is Dirt 5.
