ATTENTION IN THE COMMENTS! Just to be clear! There will be a LOT of Titanium peppered around this car, lower control arms, 4-link bars, chute mount, steering column, wishbone and on and on. THE CHASSIS itself IS MADE OUT OF 4130 CHROME MOLY TUBING!!! It's built to SFI specifications, titanium WILL NOT PASS TECH or meet these specifications. When you hear the term "everything titanium", it means anything that CAN be made out of titanium will be made out of titanium, but NOT THE CHASSIS!!!
@@beamsupreme993The front edge of the driver's tyre is further forward than the other side, basically it gives the staging beam a bigger target to hit, so you get more roll out (essentially the car can start moving before it actually breaks the beam)
@@beamsupreme993, reaction timer starts when the light goes green. But the ET timer doesn’t start until the laser beam reconnects after the front tire rolls away. So it effectively gets a 2 more inches of “running start” before the ET timer begins. Although on paper it will seem his reaction time is slower because of math from green light to start of ET.
@@stick004 That seems like a loophole needing to be fixed. It's basically cheating. You're tricking the timing system into thinking that you are still stationary when in fact you are all-ready moving, so the ET will be less. So when you run a 4.999 the slip will say you ran a 4, when in reality you know you started moving say 0.01 seconds earlier, so you actually ran a 5, but cheated your way into a 4. Kinda not in the spirit of the whole point of drag racing or achieving a benchmark time. Not saying Cleetus is a cheater, but if I had a car like that, in my heart I would always be thinking about the dishonest hundredths of a second.
He stole Tye from there didnt he? So he will know just how good their work is from him, or not if it had been crap, but Cleetus will look who has built the big cars that are winning as well, He mentioned someone in a previous video who had their car built by them, There must be dozens of companies reach out to be part of what Cleetus does, just because he seems a nice guy to be associated with, Im guessing the Helicopter people dont just let anyone in to film, they will have looked at what he does and how he goes about things, and saw it would be a good look for them.
Been a follower for about 5 years now, loved every single video. About a month ago I had a seizure behind the wheel of my truck, rear ended somebody, and wrecked my ram 2500. License is currently on hold for 6 months, and has been extremely difficult on myself and my wife finically who I’ve been married to for only 2 months now, being that my job is majority driving. But tell you what, these videos have been such a blessing, giving me a small distraction each day, giving me something to look forward to each day as we get through this. Thank you Cleet for stickin with the videos and giving us the content, and giving us something positive each day to look forward to. Hell yeah brother!
@@OhNo4Sho I did get a new phone 4 months ago but that don’t got nothin to do with how long I’ve been watching lol, tried to send a positive comment and you gotta hate, tf Is wrong with you
Godspeed in your recovery my man. I completely understand where you're coming from. I was diagnosed with ALL leukemia on May 5, 2020 and would spend nearly 100 days in the hospital in the months that followed, all without a single visitor due to COVID restrictions. I was 39 with a 4 year old girl to raise. It was physically, emotionally, and financially devastating for my family and I. As corny as it sounds, the videos these goons made gave me something to look forward to every couple days in a time when there weren't a lot of positive things happening in between chemotherapy infusions. It's been a little over 4 years now, and I'm in full remission. Still undergoing treatment, but that's better than the alternative I suppose. Anyway, hold your head up, and may God bless you and yours.
The thing I love about CJRC is that every question Cleet had, they had an answer. Like they knew all the concerns, because they've been doing this for so long. Super transparent, excited to see more progress!
For those who didn't before.....your appreciation for Ty should go way up! You never hear that guy complain and he works as hard as anyone! There is more to welding than just pressing a handle on a gun! We all know Cleet appreciates all his guys! Love this team!
@@bdubyah89yep welding is 90 percent prep and fit up,espc on TIG fabrication, industrial pipe welding less, MIG well that is fire and forget, spray it thick
Love how Cleet says "correct me if I'm wrong" all the time instead of just blagging away like most people in front of a camera. I'm for a clear coat over the chassis while retaining the heat marks from the welds. There's a challenge for the powdercoat team!
BROTHER… You know you have to reenact the original Cleetus McFarland video that started everything, but this time it’s really your Camaro and you have to have Kyle record it! That would be so full circle and it’ll be a record breaking video if you do it as close to the original video as possible 😂 what a dream come true ❤🇺🇸💪🏻
If anyone hasnt watch the CJRC videos it is well worth the watch! They are very detailed and you can tell they are putting in a lot of work to make sure they are good videos. Hats off to that team, and awesome to see Troy again on the channel :)
Especially that video where he explained how much titanium costs and how much a build like this will cost ($400k). I doubt Cleeter would ever say what he paid for the car.
The ornery chassis guy (I can't recall his name atm... Sorry dude) is a hoot to listen to, as well. You can just tell he's earned every bit of knowledge he's got squirreled away.
I've been watching @CJRaceCars channel video updates on this project and he is a no nonsense straight up professional that is delivering you a superior product that is going to move you up the next step at the strip and I can't fricking wait! Let's GO brother!
Really cool to see the other side of this build and Cameron seems chill but all business if that makes sense. No doubt that this is a quality pro build, and shows why Tye was such a great grab for Cleet coming from this shop originally.
Love the use of Streamline 4130 for the top bar above your helmet. It used to blow my mind watching the guys straighten 20ft lengths by hand in a all wood lined straightener.
It really should be a pro mod style, big block procharged deal, like the big boys making more than 4,000 hp. But it just seems like they don't want to step up, and instead stay with the Mullet classes with the twin turbos and such.
@@a-a-rondavis9438 mullet makes what, 3000ish? They just turn it down on 275’s. He said before he was gonna run 275’s on this car but it doesn’t have to move the weight that mullet does. We know he’s going big block, a centrifugal supercharger with a small pulley push’s 9-10lbs of boost and it would probably be a 541 hemi or a 572 based engine so it would be 3000-3500 hp. At the weight they are shooting for it’ll be a mid-high 5 second car regardless. I will be happy if they do procharger, change of pace
Cleetus, you have been killing it this month! I know that the Month of Freedom has to be hard for you, but you really stepped it up this year. Keep up the great work!
Just a shout out, I would love to see Cameron get in on the Cleetus shennanigans and mix it up with the boys more. Such knowledge and dedication, gotta get that boy some spotlight... AND his crew. Danny is a wizard no lie.
They are, but also remember a lot of the chassis work is repetitive so they know what they’re doing, and aren’t having to make custom tubes the whole way.
Not gonna lie when I seen “Eagle update” I automatically thought of Leroy. Lol. I love hearing professionals talk about their craft. Cameron is awesome.
After asking chatGPT about a dozen questions I think I understand advantage of front wheel stagger. Start time is not triggered by first tire breaking the beam, it is triggered when the beam is re-established after the tire(s) exit the beam. Building the chassis with one front spindle further back delays the start (and red light trigger) because the beam is interrupted longer. Side benefit is counteracting the torque at launch with a longer moment arm on one side for less torque steer.
CLEET! Impressive skills, bro! Your team is something else. I know you’re taking good care of them. They CLEARLY are working their absolute tails off. WOW!
Thinking that I started to follow the channel when leroy got turbos... 😅 The amount of builds they made since then , and the level...raised so frickin much!!!
I really can't believe how quickly these guys have built this cage etc. Seems like a week ago they were just getting started. I cant wait to see what motor and Trans you run.
Dear Cleetus, I know the month of freedom is ALOT of work for you and most likley a large interuption to your family time... but you need to know I FREEKING LOVE the month of Freedom bro. Everyday is excellent in May.
I love the month of freedom as much as the next guy, but we can't kill the guy if we want more content. Lol cleet and the boys are killing it. Going to be an awesome summer.
I think the car should be called "Patriot" since Leroy is getting a body with an eagle shape. Either way looking forward to seeing the car put together.
Cleet and Squirrel Mobile Welding. 1800 YER DONE. Burning holes in it since 2024! No helmet Welds so Hot they will Blind Ya! safety Squinting their way across Florida. DAD BODS AND MELTING RODS! Cleet and Squirrel Mobile Welding
Cant wait for him to make a video going to Proline to show the engine! He keeps teasing about the motor but ya kinda know what its gonna be, will be nice to see them running a straight up drag motor, the SMX is a beast of a drag and drive motor but to make it street able they have to have a ton more possible weak points, a straight track motor is gonna be a night and day difference for the crew.
Yeah if it’s not a proline or noonan hemi it will be within a year. The classes the car fits only thing that stays together being pushed that hard is a hemi and with youtube deadlines for stuff proline is the answer over noonan there due to there inventory levels and nothing truly ever actually being out of stock. Not to mention Rumor is noonan has been having supply chain issues (to the extent of people having to source there own parts and send them with the engine when they send it back to be refreshed )
@@54raceman i went nelson for my track car because the vast majority of the parts i can get off the shelf from jegs or a few other suppliers, i talked to SME and Noonan and both will tell you flat out that their wait times are crazy because so many of their parts are custom, a replacement crank or cam for a smx is legit month at best to get, i try to race every weekend during the season amd being able to get ahold of replacement parts is a big deal if you want to race regularly and not miss events because of a broken car, and really for the type of racing i do a 3k HP smx or a 2500 HP nelson engine are both gonna get me about the same ET since its impossible to make a clean run on these crappy midwest tracks with either one turned all the way up anyway.
@@iamarawn that would be a really stupid move, SMX is a drag and drive engine, why would you use a drag and drive setup for a track only car? You can get a better engine for way less money and you dont have the added complexity of a cooling system that you dont need for the application, in the first video on this build Cameron slipped up and mentioned the 481x which is a widely used and well proven setup for this exact application, with the added benefit of coming from a much larger shop where you can actually get replacement parts next day instead of the months it takes to get replacement parts from steve which is the same reason leroy isnt running a SML, when you inevitably trash a crank or cam on one of steves engines with it being such a small shop and steves engines being almost entirely custom parts it can take weeks or even months to get a replacement parts, SME makes great motors for D&D cars but there are much better options for a track only build, its kinda like using a wrench to drive a nail, yeah it will do the job but its far from the best option.
Cameron definitely knows his craft. Started following his channel because of you. This man knows what he is doing along with his guys. Glad to see this build being all in Florida. Mad respect to Cameron and crew there is Lakeland. Here in Minneola loving it.
I love that the so much of the team went along to look at eagle 😁 just some friends loving cars and sharing a love and a passion for racing and having fun. 🤘 Thanks for all the love and hard work guys.
Like this comment to let cleet and the boys know how much we appreciate them and want them to relish in the glory that was the month of freedom this year and tell them to go spend some hard earned time with their families. Incredible month boys ❤
Professional experience! All I could do was listen! Couldn't be around a better group of individuals! I'm lost for words! I'm just a viewer and a fan but genuinely happy you have a great team around you Garret! That's inspiring!
They both commented on posts on project release day that it was turbo but hopefully for the guys having to fix the car between rounds he changed his mind or they’re gonna be getting real good at swapping engines at events because the way you have to do the boost management in that class to be competitive with a turbo car the bottom end becomes the boost relief valve in form of self destruction if you have to abort a pass in serious competition trim
