Backstory:
“In 2010 after 3 year after Super Mario Galaxy released, Nintendo decided if they wanted to create a new Mario game by teaming with scratch for a new game that can run with the console and a handheld, almost a hybrid game. Development started around early 2011 or late 2013 with the scratch team working on the code and the nintendo team make the art, they didn’t knew what to chose the style or how it would worked, so they relied onto Super Mario 64 as it was one of Nintendo’s best games. They called it project experimental 1 at the beginning, it was a total mess as Mario kept glitching around with the collision after like 4 times of failing they finally got it to work on the 5th working collision engine, it was called Super Mario EXP5 as they couldn’t chose an actual name for the project. everything was going well until Nintendo started development on super Mario odyssey and the Nintendo switch which lead to Nintendo decision to scrapped the project completely after years of work or scrapped super Mario odyssey which would ultimately scrapped the Nintendo switch console and favor of the idea of an console and handheld compatible game. Nintendo chose to go with super Mario odyssey as it was an better option than working with an other company that only involves around 2D easy coding platform. Super Mario EXP5 was a secret project from Nintendo and quietly cancelled the project around 2015 to 2016. I had took Super Mario EXP5 before it gets deleted off after the cancellation and continue to developed it as an fan project quietly, I leaked the trailer for good as it’s incomplete, made during the game’s development, and the game uses a similar AI like the one from 1995’s super Mario 64. Reason why it wasn’t completed because people would be more interested of a console that has a game that would use more motion sensor. I think Nintendo chose the right thing to do as it wouldn’t be impressive to develop a game that would be too undefinable and using developers that only makes 2D games.” - Jerry (scratch developer)
The story ain’t real nothing here is legit, all this is just for fun and a think of an alternative universe where this cancel Mario game exist, I had actually developed this game for a few months and it was inspired by B3133, breaking barriers, and other super Mario beta stuffs. It’s was a different project planned from the start until I added Mario in my project.
