Giants is just becoming a publisher for the SIM racing game, that's all, I really don't expect much more

I'm really interested in where this goes, from a Farm Sim player's perspective I don't expect much to change because it's a separate dev team handling that game and Giants is "just" the publisher, so we shouldn't see much change on the FS side in that respect. As for what Giants can offer a sim racing game dev team, theres the obvious marketing / publishing aspect, support at games conventions and so on. Giants is also now self-publishing their own niche market simulator game and have just recently got out from under the thumb of a larger publishing company that does games in multiple genres. Not that it was a bad thing to be wirh FHI, but I always wondered how much impact they had on FS game development to the detriment of what Giants wanted to do. A you must do this or can't do that "because the shareholders.." kind of thing. Which is largely what happened to Ian Bell with Project Cars 3 if i remember correctly, yes Giants is a company and want to make money but it think they have a unique perspective now being devs AND publishers which will work well with Straight4 Studios visoon of their game. On top of that theres the way Giants manages their brand deals and product licensing, having a team working on car manufacturers the way they do with the farm brands can only be a boon for Straight4 in the future. Even working with modders to get smaller / regional manufacturers in the game (Connect Modding and the Jacto brand from Brazil for example). And then theres the eSports angle, Giants literally run their own league so there's potential for something there in the future too with competitive sim racing! Fun times ahead for sure!

To be honest I think that it’s nothing to be too worried about. Both games are going to use different game engines and dev teams. It’s just a publishing deal. Maybe they can share some ideas on bringing modding to a console racing game that would be interesting as giants have experience in this field.

I believe its all about the MODing. Giants does a great job on testing, and supervising MODs. The "community" has opened FS22 to so many possibilities, which cannot be said about many games/sims.

As both avid sim racer and FS Player. This does interest me. Coming from historic background coming from many well known like NXGN and AOR being part of league races from early days of Project Cars to Gran Turismo and F1. I am curious but optimistic things work out well with Physcis, Graphics and the Licence of vehicles etc....

As an F1 and Farming enthusiasts, this is EXTREMELY interesting!

For instance Sony and saga in 1995 -2005 or recently ---For several years, some relevant mergers, acquisitions, or studio formations were happening in the video game industry every month. Companies like Microsoft, Sony, and Embracer Group went on shopping sprees, and studios many of us never expected to be acquired, like ZeniMax Media, Bungie, and Gearbox Entertainment, were respectively bought up. These companies seemed dead set on infinite growth, with no plans to stop. That tone changed throughout 2023.

ALL i see is a publisher getting richer Neither has anything to gain but $ for Both are well established in there own games. I for see maybe lag in fs or PMR out lying a subtle update delays in 1 or both games. Or maybe even programmer disagreements on certain Pay.

The only two games I play are Gran Turismo seven with a VR helmet or farming simulator. Back-and-forth.

There’s not going to be cross overs, this is not news. Giants is now a publisher, that’s what publishers do, just like Focus published Farming Simulator. Project motor racing has nothing to do with FS.

I guess time will tell. But I think far too much is being assumed with this. This is simply a publishing deal by Giants. It doesn’t mean a “crossover” is going to happen. Remember, publishing and development are 2 completely separate tasks and have virtually no crossover. Publishing is all about getting games in-front of would be buyers eyes. Development is the actual creation of the game.

I wonder if the plan is for a racing sim with a built in modhub, I know AC (and others) support a mods but I'm not aware of anything that has a built in modhub like feature (at least on the scale of how FS does it), I believe there are front ends for AC that do something similar, but again not part of the base game. That would separate the racing game from others, while being able to lean on Giant's experience with a modhub, approval of mods, etc.

There is zero negative impact on Farming Simulator. If you think there is, you're drunk.

A ai crew chief you can talk to i think will be in this game, ive even see videos of the real nascar commentary team, do commentary on the race with ai using the real voices.

"Two helmets squaring off" made me think of when DJ and Farmer Cop were sat on your sofa. Is this gonna be truck and tractor racing? I hope so.

I can't help but think that FARMING simulator is drifting further and further away from actual farming! WTH does motor racing have to do with farming. I can only shake my head in despair.

They need to sort farm sim out first 😂😂 Theres a multitude of problems need fixing before they start a new game
