Rather surprised the cache works like this on a decently old microprocessor, but goes to show why compared to an 8080, it's not just the 4x larger word size (8 vs 32-bit) that makes it have ~45x as many transistors, all those extra features like an MMU and dynamic bus sizing really push the transistor count up to squeeze every instruction per second out of every clock cycle.
