Ichika has guitar rifts and shooting stars on hers Minori has cheering and clovers on hers Kohane has dj scratching and beat sounds and spray paint on hers Tsukasa has trumpet fanfare and stars for his Kanade has a violin sound and glitch effects for hers Miku has her voice and the triangle sekai sound and numbers for hers I love that their all different, the game developers went above and beyond. I can imagine them all playing after each other on different parade floats

I love Tsukasa's theme. 6:25 it's like a crowd is in their seats waiting for the show to start 6:34 an alarm sounds and the show begins then it's such great happy vibe band orchestra music 7:07 the crowd cheers and applause

Man the 3rd anniversary brought so much to both the game and vocaloid in general its honestly so heart warming how far they've come. I still remember there being talks of how vocaloids were on a decline almost a decade ago. Seeing a "revival" only a few years ago with prosekai now boosting the genre to a newer generation really gives me hope that it's gonna stay for a long time. Especially considering the game commissions songs from seasoned and newer artists together with the announcement of a vocaloid artist academy really shows that Sega (or at least colourful palette) genuinely cares about the genre and wants to keep it going, and I'm all for it.

Miku gives a nostalgia. Ichika slaps with the guitar solo. Minori has the crowd cheering which is sweet. Kohane part gives me a DJ vibe. Tsukasa part quite reminds me of a party. Kanade really turned 180, kowai.

I just love how niigo be like fucking turned 180° on everyone, like bruh you can see how colourful and playful the song from ichika to tsukasa and suddenly it went despair when kanade shows up

OK BUT KANADES AND ICHIKAS SOLOS ARE SO GOOD-

Probably the best part of the anniversary update. Like the fact that themes fit the group members is just.. incredible

ooh the vbs one is showing the duality too, it's like the first bright energetic part for vivids and the bass hiphop for bad dogs

5:10 I like how VBS goes with the theme of paint/spray paint and neon/bright colors (especially pink), it really represents their group and it's pretty consistent, and the green stripes moving like caution tape is really a nice touch. The street music (especially the beat drop) in the title screen is also so good, it's just so cool lmao (5:25)

Miku's singing calling back to the INTRO of the game, the first thing you see when you first open the app...geez I love this game

something i noticed: at 8:26, kanade's variant has a piano melody in the background (the c sharp, d sharp, c sharp, d sharp, c sharp, b flat). this kind of sounds like a part in an ost called loneliness that exists (which i think is played in the carnation recollection event). at around 32 seconds, you can hear the part or maybe it's just me idk

I'M GOING TO CRY THIS GAME BRINGS ME SO MUCH HAPPINESS-

I absolutely love Tsukasa's and Kanade's. The WXS twist reminds me of Mario Kart music and the stark contrast of violin music for the N25 twist is just so powerful.

I was shocked but I also really loved that Miku sings in her version, reminds me of the opening cutscene, it's so cute!!! ❤

KOHANES BEAT DROP AT 5:26 GOES SO HARD

i love all of them... ichika's guitar solo, the sounds of the audience in minori's, the epic beat drop in kohane's, tsukasa's mario-kart-esque theme, the violin in kanade's, and miku's pretty singing! my favorite ones are probably vbs and niigo, i can't stop listening to them

the colors on the miku one look so soft and pretty

these all make me so emotional for some reason and i dont know how to explain it (dont read this if you dont want to read my rambling thoughts) its a spin on the same title screen melody we've heard for the past three years, but now each of the groups get their own arrangement! maybe im just too attached to these characters and im reading too much into the Title Screen Song, but it really seems like theyve all grown so much as characters since the beginning and they are each getting closer to their goals!! personal thoughts: l/n: its like the whole band is playing the song together, theyre finally going pro!! mmj: it sounds so hopeful with the bells AND THEN THE TRANSITION TO THE ENCOURAGING AUDIENCE CHEERS!!!!!! this is my favorite one it makes me so happy, THIS IS WHAT MINORI HANASATO WOULD HAVE WANTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! vbs: not much to say it just sounds really cool, kohane looks so awesome wxs: i love the transition with that sound that plays right before a play starts, its like wxs is about to put on another show :) n25: this one is definitely the most unique, its a lot more melancholic and really sounds like something kanade would compose

musically this is so amazing like. they did a different interpretation of the usual loading music for each of the groups that did such a good job of showing the vibes each one has. from everything to the instrumentation of them to the different chord progressions behind the melody to the rhythms and syncopations. (disclaimer intensely hyperfixated on this game )

I LOVE HOW YOU CAN TELL WHICH UNIT IS WHICH THROUGH THE DIFFERENT MUSICAL INTERPRETATIONS. Kanade’s one is my absolute favorite. it’s like it squeezes the emotion out of your heart all of a sudden, melancholy violins that nearly bring me to tears. the glitching effects in the visual are the icing on the cake. just perfect. i love n25. more of us need to talk about ichika’s guitar solo. it’s a powerful experience through song and the type of music you’d hear at the beginning of a show or something. like it’s introducing you to what’s to come. the shooting star visual is so synonymous with l/n and it’s so amazingly hopeful. the KOHANE ONE AUGHHHH THE BEAT DROP ATE DOWNNNNN I CANT GET ENOUGH OF THAT. THE VISUALS WITH THE NEON COLORS AND GREEN CAUTION TAPE ???? YES QUEEN both minori and tsukasa gave me this warm, cheerful feeling. WxS and MMJ have always been the representation of unbridled joy for me, and through the cheering of the crowds for minori (for the “idol” theme) and the brass ensemble for tsukasa (more “whimsical”) it’s so clear. almost like you can hear them speaking motivational words to you. (D1 yapper) EDIT: how could i forget Miku… her simple vocalizing is gentle, like the way she observes each leader with the quiet hope that their true feelings will be discovered. it’s so inspirational to me.
