I’d love to see moniker in her birthday suit ❤️ but Mrs Santa would do as long as it’s short enough so Alan make sure your tape measure is way off lmao 😂
Nice priorities: Heating ON, Fuct the Audio, Go see Monica!!....Great to see the close up macro detail - far better than any workshop manual - you have such patience and attention to detail!!! Looking forward to see the Monica test drive!.....I know what kind of Suit I’d like to see her in.....nudge nudge wink wink!!!
Brilliant Alan I love your expertise i spent the whole day trying to get the locking nut of my track rod end and failed, going to order a new track rod, anyway as Santa comes only once a year it would be nice to see Monica as Mrs Santa, and could you show us in a future video how to flare a brake pipe .
Definitely the Mrs Santa for Mrs Monika! 👍 😂 I thought the use of your credit card on the rear crank oil seal was awesome idea! It worked really well! 👍 Regards the ST brake caliper, I can't believe the cast was so far out! Good bit of fabrication though, bet the owner was chuffed. Me and the misses did smile when you found the exact bell housing bolt from a mrk 5 Mondeo, you'd chucked away cos too difficult to put back in! I've been there on my lads BMW 330d! At least the gearbox is lighter! 😂 Great vid, looking forward to the fly wheel, clutch, gearbox refit! 👍
Great content as always buddy I’ve watched all your videos as I’m a Volkswagen technician and I’m not as clued up on fords so it good to learn bits and bobs from another brand
Meant to say, my old Mk1 Mondeo V6 leaked oil, I got a crank shaft kit from the USA, consisted of a very thin metal sleeve and tool to fit it over the original crank shaft, no more grove and no more leaks. Now my ST220 is leaking. Bloody Ford's!!!
Hi Alan. Great as always with lots of good tips in this one 👍🏻 Monica in a santa outfit with imagination lol 😂 Until that video see ya 🤣 Cheers Stevie 😎
Brilliant video alan. If only you'd made this when I had my st220. Very helpful and great tips in this video. Oh & defo a sexy miss santa for Monica she's bada bing!!!! Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄
It's not good to use copper grease with aluminium parts like gearbox case. It's indusing galvanic corrosion betwen this two metals. Anyway, great video and instructions. :)
If you do not have the proper pins for lining up the sun frame then spray paint the join to the body with light coloured paint. That way when you put the frame back on you can libe it up to where it was (I speak from experience and it works a treat).
Hi Alan I bet you are pleased that the heating oil has come in and another brilliant video as always and hope you are staying safe and well and how is the taxi business doing now that we are out of lockdown
It is not recommended to grind aluminium as it clogs the wheel, if you really have to then use a course wheel :) The easy way to remove that oil seal without damaging surfaces is to drive a self scrapping chew into it and use a claw hammer to pull it out :) The difference between a plastic and a metal impeller on a water pump is of importance if it is driven by the cam belt, if the coolant freezes solid and you try starting the engine then a plastic impeller will beak up and allow the engine to turn, with a metal one the cam belt snaps !
Bathing suit with a Mrs Claus hat on Alan , mondeo coming on well , hope hes got plenty of dosh to pay for your work , cant do jobs for nowt nowadays 👍
brake discs...... mmmm ok here we go groooves in the discs do nothing.... they make it look ccol on the street...maybe the grooves i think..are supposed to de.glaze the pads when they overheat in asda car park and they make a funny grinding noise when you stop... how many new performace cars do you see with this type of disc... ? cross drilled discs the one swith holes in them allegedly.. help with cooling.. porches and stuff have them.. so must be good eh... untill the holes get clogged with brake dust after 27miles..... then porsche charge £800 for cleaning the holes out... performance pads make the difference... then they squeak..:) admire your skill alan N x
First time I have to disagree with the work done ST220 customer car as I recall, only one brake cable replaced both should be done due to the amount of work involved, dropping the heat shield, the brake caliper I would refuse to bodge it like that, but thats just me, you washed the engine down after fitting the new seal, would have done that before fitting it, episode 1 there was 10 minute of nothing before you got round to doing something, mostly interesting your work is a welcome distraction thanks for the effort you put in recording, editing, and putting out for us to watch.
Hey Alan, love the show - I have a Mk 3 2L Duratec, which needs clutch/DMF done - how long does the job take with the typical garage facilities you have (i.e. hoist, gearbox jack, engine support bar etc)? I'm contemplating if I should do DIY - it'll be my first time doing it and only having jack stands, will need to buy engine support bar etc and still faffing about under the car. What do you think? Cheers
Hi Alan, one of my taxis is going to be the scrap yard after it’s stripped, have a question regarding the seats, the seats are leather and we have another taxi that has fabric seats. Are these easy to swap over and what do you have to do with the wiring in the door for the memory to work for the seats. Cheers Alan
Hi Alan, so you mind sharing the costs involved (parts and labour)? Mine is pissing out. Local garages don’t want to touch it and Ford are £1000+ in parts and £1000+ in labour! Thanks 🙏
Hi mate thanks for this brill video but could you please tell me it was a v6 st 220 that you put that new main oil seal in please as i have got to do mine .thanks mate , chris.
@@alan4x Hi Alan thanks for the reply really good of you mate trouble is i have just put new clutch and fly wheel in but me rear main oils seal has just gone . as Vospers seem o be ignoring there phone on a friday afternoon hopefully you can tell me have i got to get new flywheel bolt as i dont know if they are stretch bolts or not so should i buy new or can i use the old ones ?????????, cheers mate , have a great weekend. Chris.
@@chrissaunders9672 hi chris... i think you would normally fit new flywheel bolts but to be honest on the taxis i just reuse the old ones and tighten them with an impact gun
Allan thanks for the top entertainment, as always. Nice that you are showing these videos. Technology and entertainment. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and Mrs M. Mrs santa suit
Hello, I'm going have to replace the DMF and clutch but the most what scares me is te 4 bolts that holds the subframe on to the car. I think they have never been lose and my mondeo mk3 TDCI is 2002 model. Can I do something to minimize the risk that te captive nut begins to spin?
if you can spray wd40 or some kind of penetrating oil through the chassis onto the bolt threads and leave for a few days may help, otherwise just go for it and hope they come out, worst case you will need to cut open the chassis to get a spanner on the captive nuts
@@alan4x are thee holes in the chassis to spray wd40 on those bolts? I thought they where not reachable, even not to spray something on? I know 2 bolts are under the shell on the foot, do I have to drill a hole there to spray it on?
@@timmymues9256 if you have a spray can with a straw on it you might be able to squirt some freeing oil through and chassis holes or gaps to reach the bolt threads
