I have a spare 350 with the tbi. The engine went out due to red lining it on Overdrive lower D for over 70 miles 😅😅😅 do you know what could cause the engine to Wore out? The engine still turns by the way.
should i had a 670 cfm throttle body from holley with the garden sprinkler sounding 90 pph injectors. 305 used 55 pph if i remember right and the 350 is only 5 pph more than the 305. IF I REMEMBER RIGHT THE 350 only used 65 pph injectors. but ya it should pass easy as long as there are no other issues.i built a 355 roller motor with a crane hyd roller 270....276 sorry its been so many years. but it was actually a choppy ish cam. had a performer rpm intake vortec heads ( not the tbi boat anchors ) headers from slp. no smog pump and get this a 750 cfm double pumper carb. here is the trick. use a brand new cat in the exaust. as long as iys not sloppy rich and during the sniffer test in the exaust it passed with freakin flying colors. way lower than the injected weak 170 hp 305 ever did. keep the cat hot. drive up leave the vehicle running till they test it. a very hot cat will drop your emmissions alot. use a removable straight pipe during the year. when emmissions ti.e pops up put your still new bolt in cat on the car/truck. go get tested. come home and take it back off. works every time.
hey man I liked the project you did with your tbi, you know I would try it but could you help me with the descriptions of the products you used and where you bought them, I would like to have them and after doing it I will let you know.
This makes me glad i live in ks where we dont have to worry about carb checks. I am getting a laugh about your worry of cold starts in California. Of all the tbi mods you did, what would you recommend?
My situation is a little different see I have a 305 and I put a chip in it as well as 350 injectors which you could feel the difference, however slight. a year later I switched back and realized I did have more power with those mods installed, but already having a 350 I'm not sure how much the chip would help by itself. so I would have to say the best mods in general are probably just the throttle body spacer and the injector pod spacer along with my dual snorkel setup going out to the fenders to get cold air. Headers and exhaust is probably the best you can get for a stage 1 upgrade
Those are pre heater tubes meant for heating up the engine quickly by sucking in hot air off the headers until the preheater valves get hot enough the flaps on the intake will open up allowing cold air in.(California smog stuff)
HEY I SEE YOU HAD YOUR TRUCK HOOK UP TO THE DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE WHAT YEAR IS YOUR TRUCK DO YOU HAVE OBD1 PLUG OR THE OBD2 PLUG ,,I GOT A 1990 K5 BLAZER I HAVE THE OBD1 AND I BEEN TRYING TO FIND THE SOFTWARE AND THE ADAPTER PLUG SO I CAN HOOK MY TRUCK UP TO DO THE READING..LET ME NO
