At this point there’s so little Arrma left on that car that you’d be quicker to buy all the upgrades and some Arrma parts to make it into a complete car, I mean what’s left, just the transmission?

Yea, I don’t understand it. The bashing didn’t seem that bad, not like 60 foot jumps and runs at the skate park. Maybe you have to be there in person. In all these videos, it seems like no manufacturer can make an unbreakable model. Having to upgrade every component makes them no longer an ARRMA or Traxxas or whatever brand. It’s totally a custom rig, that still breaks. I used to break mine every time I went out last year (after fist getting into this hobby). I have nothing been out all winter and not looking forward to all the repairs and cost this year....not that it will stop me. Edit: Currently own an ARRMA Outcast that I rebuilt into a Kraton-ish creation with long chassis and F-150 Raptor body. It may take a better beating now.
@@oldan3933 I definitely don't have anything against Arrma, actually looking at getting a Talion later but just certain aspects do not make sense with them. Luckily I think things are improving hopefully. The V5 versions seem to really improve on everything and not break as bad.

How to get an Arrma that can challenge an X-Maxx: Step 1. Buy Arrma Kraton 8s. Step 2. Throw ALL of it in the rubbish. Step 3. Build an Arrma Kraton clone entirely out of NON Arrma parts!
Sound crazy really, u spend a small fortune on this Kraton and then another small fortune on upgrades, don’t get me wrong, still looks great afterwards.
I’ve been gravitated to this channel ever since I cracked open one of my RCs and began toying with it, I live with my dad so up until then everything was just a mystery to me and I only knew how to drive, so now today I’m a expert driver and racer, programmer, and mechanic, although I still need a little more experience with getting my hands dirty. I have 3 and it really only applies to my Purpose-built racing Slash which was basically the hand-me-down trophy truck from literally the most skilled guy who had ever stepped foot on our track, he switched brands and sold it to us for $30 with the castle motor and ESC still installed, it was a act of genuine kindness towards my 13 year old self... now I’m 15 and after working my way through the ranks as it stands right now, I dominate in the truck class, but anyway, I’m just rambling about the hobby that keeps me going. What I really wanted to say is that after a seemingly endless off-season we finally return to racing just in 5 days on Sunday, and me and my dad are working hard behind the scenes to make our trucks best as possible and yesterday we got mine out for it’s first pre-season test run after a TON of theoretical ideas were used on it and thankfully it works as I intended, but ohh so much better than it used to be, if you’ve made it to this point I praise you for your long attention span and you will be rewarded with the conclusion, so we’re restricted to 2s in our class but we can run 1/8th scale motors, on a 2s battery my truck runs 36 mph on a 50C and 100C battery, though it has more torque with the 100C, this I believe is a result of the motor reaching it’s maximum amperage draw and as a result running the same on a 50C as a 100, because low kv motors have a low maximum current and mine so happens to be a 2200kv motor with a 25t pinion and 45t spur naturally drawing more amperage with that gear ratio, so I think it simply just maxed out on both because the 100C used to be faster than the 50 when my pinion was a 21t, I also tried it on a 3s for a speed run and ran a 46 on 85F pavement, now it can run up to 6s but since it’s geared aggressively would ether brake parts or overheat the motor, plus it’s modified into the truck and it won’t even fit two batteries, so 4s is the maximum for safety and logical reasons, we didn’t try that out yet but I will soon

I love your Arrma fanboy character lol, personally my Kraton 6s is my favorite and best to me RC, but yeah it's far from perfect and fanboys, be it Arrma, Traxxas, Apple, insert whatever brand fanboy you want, are always super annoying.
Love the K8S but there are some opportunities, I keep killing shok rod ends and shock shafts on big sends so I'm with ya Kev. Thanks for trying these shocks. Great video as always Kev😎👍

Hey kev I am sorry about my last comment which said that I am putting a 2050kv motor and a 26t pinion gear in my losi 5t but I was actually putting it in my dbxle 2.0
Now this is an opportunity to do a head to head with the fully M2C K8 and the new EXB K8. Fitting the EXB with a Max 5 would be another nice direct comparison when you consider the total price on the road. EXB already has upgraded tyres. 👌
kEvin, does the new Roller Kraton 1/5 EXB got better shocks and a-arms? Please answer after you try it. I dont have money buy alot hop ups. Buy couple great Lipos 2x4s is enough for me
