One of my favorite things about watching Kev's videos. He rarely takes the safe route, using things that are meant for each other, things designed and known to work together. His "I have no idea if this is going to work or not." attitude is one of the things that make his channel so great!

Just an idea Kev!! If you do a new body I wouldn't cut out the wheel arches, with them cut out it increases drag (I think) thus making the car slower and possibly less stable

Even on camera that motor looks absolutely MAHOOSIVE , I can’t even begin to imagine how big it is in person

You should keep the covers on the rear wheel because it would be more aerodynamic because the parts that are moving don't disturb the air flow.

I can't imagine the worth of all these rc cars and parts in this garage. Absolute insanity!

Kev, ur doing the Diff Ring/Pinion mesh a bit wrong. Just like with Spur/Motor Pinion mesh, you want it to be ever so slightly loose instead of ever so slightly tight, so the drivetrain spins without resistance. I think one less shim on the Diff Pinion might be just about perfect.

In my opinion, I think Raz has set the standard on how to build a proper speed car.

You should think about using ceramic bearings... for top speed it changes a lot! Really nice project!!!

Kev, for the other, dual motor car, you should try and get some super fast sensor motor, i feel that part of the problem was the wheels going at different speeds!

Found this channel by a fluke a couple of days ago, just ordered my first RC car:) A fantastic channel!

Kevin please put the motor and esc on the same side, so you have more room for batteries on the other side. Also tilt the esc on the side to shorten the length of the motor wires.

I’ve watched a few of these fastest rc videos and can’t understand why they aren’t putting more effort into aerodynamics

Have you considered maybe building something with a fan that sucks it to the ground like the recent Goodwood record holding car. Could be a first, RC car with ground effect... With ground effect you might be able to get away with just RWD...allowing for more space for the fan.

Something the RC car parts makers (any brands) should make is a chassis that has no holes pre drilled so you can pick how the placement of all the motors and stuff works and drill all the holes yourself

You made a good point about 'bedding in' the gears. I wonder if it's standard practice to run it gently for a few days and then tear it down, clean up the gears and re-lube them.

One potential weak point is where the motor/diff mount attaches to the chassis, could add a metal plate to make it more rigid.

With that being said you have made me realize it was time for me to peruse my passion and dream to start my own RC hobby shop. I do love these speed run builds! I don't know when you recorded this video, however, we have some sunny dry, and possibly very hot weather on the way for us in the UK. We don't want nasty rain and wind stopping the testing and shake-down runs. :)

Well, i think you should move the engine mount closer to the center of this car . This engine is weighing about two kilos , so you don’t should put this on one side of the car . This max4 weight also like 700 gram but still , it’s a different Kev . A proper Balancing of vehicle is one of the most important thinks when you thinking to beat 200mph . That’s my opinion off course 😉

I actually just built one quite similar, not quite as far, but perfect pass carbon kit, HR gearbox's and 15t-42t ring and pinions! Currently running Spektrum 8s! Got it up to 120mph so far!

You're right 4 hours is a long way to travel for a speed run session to potential have to head home in 5 minutes. Here's an idea, get some accommodation near your speed run location and bring all the stuff you think you might need with you and spend a few days there.

Would be so cool if you could do like an European RC freedom factory. Buy some land and build your own RC Park for you and your friends. Build a top speed run, off road park, skate park, work shop. Make it so you can add on to the park over time. That would be the ultimate RC youtube channel. Seems like a natural progression

Try running the plastic top for the front diff housing shouldn't effect the diff operation because its the housings that warp and you can save a few grams that way.

Kev, i hope you read this. Have you thought of having a pro drone race pilot fly with the car, you can see what the pilot sees with a buddy headset, that way you will have a better perspective of the steering and keep it straighter.
