The bike looks AMAZING! I’m planning on buying my uncles 2006 YZ450F from him after my deployment. Ironically the bike used to be mine. The bike is the 50th anniversary edition. I like the mods you did and I was planning on updating the fender as well.
Great job man the bike looks amazing keep up the good work. And tou should try taking a buffing wheel to that clutch cover it should clean it right up.
That dbc racing shirt is fresh lol. But the yz looks much better than what it originally did. But I cant lie, I'm waiting for you to do another full build like with the banshee.
Looks fantastic mate. Seems a shame to get it dirty while being so much fun. You could make a movie where it transforms into a hornet (jet)& is good friends with a particular volkswagen! Hehe! It just purrs at idle & hammers with a sweet note, so have hours of fun with it you earned it.
Hey Mike, I been meaning to comment. Incredible Job. Mad Skills. Always liked the Yellow themed Yamaha. Reminds me of the old school Yamaha. I wish they stayed with the yellow. I believe they switched to Blue in 82 or right after Bc of Suzuki. My 1st Bike was a 74 GT 80 Competition Yellow. Loved that Bike. I am looking for one to restore. Great job on the Bike. The engine casings would look wicked powder Coated in Black Chrome. Talk to you soon Bud! Scott
Its about freaken time someone puts a Yamaha back together in the right colors the way Yamaha was ment to be except the yellows dont match but it will still look good.
Hey man you should really look into painting or Powdering the Exhaust Tube Black and the Tip Yellow :D The red really looks off. I think it would look amazing.
Mike Im sure u know but u can polish those aluminum frames to look like chrome they look amazing when it's done looks great though the only thing I would've done differently would be that and the side covers.but like u said it's a quick turn around
Love your videos man. I watch them like it's Netflix! Hey who makes the best manuals, from oil change to complete rebuild? I bought a hard copy of a Haynes Manuel for my yz450 and it's trash. It leaves a lot of info out and it's hard to use. It'll give steps to procedure and mid way through it's like "see chapter 4, removal." 🤦♂️ Do you recommend anyones repair manuals?
The glue on the edges is due to the windex loosening the glue. When you lay the decal over the windex it loosens the glue and when you peel it or move it the glue stays adhered and moves around with the decal. MOST reputable decal companies will strictly suggest not to use any decal adhesive or not to use the wet lay technique.
That's interesting. These graphics and others I've done have a bit of sticker residue that hangs over the edge ever without being wet. I didn't know most companies don't recommend against using wet layout; thanks for the info man!
Great job, but please Cerakote the covers 🙏 I get it’s not a show bike but the rest of the bike looks so good and those covers just stand out! 😬 love your stuff!!
Don’t cut the exhaust, I hate the long length as well but you need it for the 450 back pressure. I got a dr.d exhaust on my 450f and it’s one of the shorter looking exhausts for the 450s imo
I have a yz450f (blue) and i also updated the front fender...cycle max was supposed to order oem but instead ordered accerbis too...the color was also off a little but no one has noticed it yet 😂 front fender makes a huge difference... Sucks yamaha ONLY makes a re-style kit for 2 strokes 😞
And if you want a KILLER oil that's at the top of the food chain, look up a company called Blud Lubricants. They sponsor me and are some of THE BEST lubricants I've ever used on any of my machines.....hands down. Still the same color red it was when I put it in after doing a fluid change and has some of the best lubrication and protection qualities I've ever experienced
@@MichaelSabo I would kind of like to see a 3 wheeler build. Quadzilla sounds sweet also. Love the work inspired me to get my old 250 quadrunner back up an going. I have took 3 different people riding more then once. Riding grizzly atm here.
I seen you had a bench grinder you should of polished the cluch cover and the other one but still nice looking bike and I would stick to 4 strokes 2 strokes are money pits and then some lol 👊
How much money did u put into the yz450f an what did u sale it for bc I want one just like it everything just pops on it so awsome u do great work an thers nuin wrong with budgeting ur builds bc I once was told cheap parts break an ware jus as fast as exspensive parts LOL
Just keep the brake clean and carb and choke cleaner away from any painted surfaces it'll take the paint off anything in a hurry. I had a buddy get some on the factory frame paint on his 89 250R he was cleaning the carb a little while it was on the quad and I walked over and noticed it dripping down onto the frame and I said hey man stop holy shit I said your getting it all over the frame and he says to me, so is that a bad thing it'll help clean some of the chain lube off the frame and laughed as I shook my head at him like no hahaha I said you need to try and dilute it and wash it off with water and it worked a little bit and let it dry as much as possible and he gently tried to wipe it off with a rag and all the paint came right off with it everywhere that the cleaner came in contact with so needless to say he learned a valuable but expensive lesson that day. I still can hear him saying oh shit I think I'm going to be sick 😱🤢🤮 hahahaha priceless.
Why does everyone say they were "hooked up" with stuff they OBVIOUSLY bought with their own money. The Big Gun exhaust makes it look like a pit bike...
Offer still stands to use my lt500 as a build project. Good turn on this 450 I did similar but less work on a kx125 and flipped it for a 99 banshee to an idiot. Lol
