Are you opening in Microsoft Project or another file? We have multiple comments that some software does not properly format either the proper .xml format for either import or export. It it is with Microsoft Project itself let's connect as that would be unusual.....thanks Geof!
I have stumbled through trying to figure out the calendars, and didn't realize I had to select it by Task, I was hoping I could just select it for the whole project. The next challenge that I have, and by the way, this is great in letting me think through all the work I have been volunteered for, BUT, I really need to have it exported to my Outlook Calendar so that I can block out the time for the tasks according to the schedule I created. Otherwise, I will forget that I need to start work on a task on a given day. Can I do that?
Hi Bill, it is a good question and I actually recorded the calendar video so will review and see if I can clarify better..... there is a base calendar but again as noted Project Schedules a the project level, Task schedules and resource schedules with work happening in the common cross section of work times. ...... good request on the calendar export. We are looking at that for future releases of the Cloud version and could look to backfit it into the desktop as well. It would be useful! Thanks and good luck. I will look at improving the video.
What will we do if we are going to work in a certain hour rather than a full day? For example, how do we make choices such as two hours on Monday or 4-hours a week?
Hello Delaney, interesting question and the answer is currently no. The Calendar Option is only to "Show Calendar" or deselect. However, when deselected it just does not show the Non-Working days greyed out, it does not remove them
Hi Joe, thank you for your question... I answered below. You can obviously set the date formats mm/dd/yyyy or dd/mm/yyyy but as mentioned below we don't have generic dates
Hello Aoife, we have 3 preset calendars and you can modify to create any calendar desired including a 7 day calendar. The video shows how to modify a calendar. We do have the preset 24 hour calendar which is 7 days a week. If you want standard hours but seven day week make a new calendar ....copy the "Standard Calendar" which is 8 hours a day but select Sat and Sun and make them "non-default working time" ... by default Saturday and Sunday are not working time but you just changed that.... good luck! How are you using ProjectLIbre?
@@tahoeob if i create a custom calendar and set it as base calendar, then create another one then open the information dialog the new one is not listed. it seems i need to create all the custom calendars in one go and if i try the second time the new ones won't be listed under base calendar choices.
@@gunitinug OK, I did some testing and if the new base calendar is created and assigned for instance to a task it is saved. It looks like if you close/saved the project without assigning it is also saved. However if you quit ProjectLibre without assigning a new calendar it does look like the "orphan" calendar is not saved. Here is a quick info if anyone is reading.....There are four types of calendars being the base calendar, project calendars, resource calendars, and task calendars. Resource Calendar: determine resource availability and how tasks are scheduled. Project calendars and task calendars schedule tasks, and if resources are assigned to tasks, resource calendars are used as well. The base calendar is a template the project, resource, or task calendars are based, makes it easier to modify. It sets standard working and nonworking times for the project along with any exceptions such as January 1 being a non-working day.
Hi Sara, we jusst released a new version and you can change the date format. You can select your country which will change the date format to the default along with the currency on your project. You can also change the language. It is the "Globe" icon in the top right corner. Where are you located? We are always currious.
@@sarajayzie9385 Excellent, we do not have a Bahasa translation but you can choose English for instance and then Malaysia for your country and get the date format correct and your currency with be the Ringitt and symbol RM. If you or anyone wants to translatate the words hello =hello into Bahasa let us know and we will also get the language changed.
