I'm a mental projector. My sister told me about human design, and even though I'm a very sceptical person, the description was surprisingly accurate. As a young child, I discovered that I really liked learning things (I was really obsessive), teaching things to others, and being the leader of groups and guiding others. I also realized early on that I can't work long hours the way other people can. Which is strange, because I'm always busy learning or creating something. But I can only work when I'm inspired, and I also realized that I can only work when I have other people to guide, teach or help. I can't work "for myself." As a teen, I discovered that I like one-on-one deep conversations, and diving into another person's mind. Many people would come to me for psychological advice. So I became a psychologist/therapist. I love analyzing other people and have become good at sensing their emotions. I'm also good at memorizing theories and therapy systems, improving them and then teaching them to others. So just after my graduation (after working for just one year as a therapist), I was asked to teach psychotherapeutic theory and technique to my colleagues (other therapists) who sometimes were working for five or ten years and had a lot more experience. But despite my lack of experience, I was recognized for my ability to explain difficult theories in easy terms, and my ability to integrate many different theories and therapy systems into one framework. Looking back, I have always known what I love doing (teaching, guiding, mentoring). But being a therapist five days a week from 9 to 5 was not the best choice at all. After six years it has completely burned me out. Because my boss recognized my expertise, I got some of the most difficult cases (mostly personality disorders), and even though I'm pretty successful, I got a lot of physical symptoms (nausea, loss of appetite) that I'm still trying to recover from. My relationship ended, and I don't really see where to go from here. But I have been asked to teach at the University, so I'll start doing that next month, and the rest of the week I'll continue my work as a therapist. I really wish I was a generator, and that work wouldn't make me sick.
2/4 Mental Prijector from Norway. I was raised by MGs and gave suffered several burnouts. Been on this path for a while and I love being reminded of my attractive aura. I’m healing a lot of trauma trying to lean more and more into my design.
Ironically, my dad and I were Projectors and my mom was the only Generator in our family! She has always been frustrated with how I work - or don’t work - and how my dad used to be the same way. We were often called selfish or lazy when we would rest. You could imagine how I internalized that and try to be an Energizer bunny which always leads to extreme burnout and bitterness.

As a street and documentary photographer for over 35 years, I've struggled with hard selling my skills and expertise and felt like I was always hitting brick walls. I recently learned I am a 1/3 Projector (Finding this out later in life at 61years of age). I've all but resigned myself that my work is no longer wanted and have been trying to find a change in career as a creative and it seems I'm looking more at shooting video but unsure what that even looks like these days. Hopefully you'll see this message @Amanda and can respond with any insights/advice as a fellow solopreneur visual creative. ALl the videos on what it means to be a projector haven't resonated with me so far until finding yours. Thank you for your unique insights. It's helping to alleviate so much of my anxiety at this stage in both my personal life and career.

Great video! I am a projector and my mom is a projector. Not sure about my dad. I relate to many points of your videos such as needing to study the ins and outs of topics and I do see myself as a leader rather than a doer. I use my mind to help direct others very well
My husband is a 4/6 split definition splenic projector. He has always ended up in management in every company he has worked for. He sees how things need to be improved and directs the implementation. I'm a 4/6 triple split solar plexus generator. Our composite chart creates full channels all around. It's pretty interesting. I'm still learning what is all means, but I want to become certified to help our clients with our identity module. We both have the same completed channel between 44 and 26, opposite red and black ends. I'm just starting to learn about Gates and channels. At home, I have spent a lot of time "frustrated" that he doesn't complete housework that I need, but I notice that when he steps in to direct the kids (6 kids, 3 projectors, 2 mg's, and 1 generator), that's when things finally start to get done. I feel like I'm always pushing them to get things done and I'm hitting burnout with the massive amount of housework, and time it's taking, and very little time for getting our business done. We are starting coaching together but getting started had been slow moving because of all the distractions.

I've been learning about this (plus gene keys) for a few months but I feel like I only get more questions and barely any answers. I have had readings, a "blueprint" done, gene keys readings... The more I learn, the more stuck I feel.
Me to!!I was surrounded by generators. Worked aa a generator for 53 years. I lost everything. Divorced, cancer, twice a burnout. Now social assistance benefit. I am happy but have no clou what way I should go. I Am, is the best think to say every day. But is there still more comming or waiting for me....? I am 62 now
Thank you for this! I literally just found out about Human Design a few days ago, and I've learned so much about myself. I'm a therapist that works with kids and oh boy, it makes sense why I'm able to do this but at the same time, it can be draining.
I watched this twice to make sure I wasn't imagining it. 😅 End to end, every line of this felt straight out of my journal, in a world where I know how to describe my energetic experience in all relationships since.. forever, really (in a primarily generator & man gen family, hence living too much in my doer instead of my "be"er) I've been exploring my human design - and have a very similar chart as Amanda's with splenic authority - after putting it away for over a year, and just sent this video to my boyfriend so he could understand! Is “wait for the invitation” the reason I hate posting my products on social media? I always felt more comfortable when someone else shared my product/business. I’m new to this journey and just found out my spouse is also a Projector.
Then how can it be explained that whenever I was invited, it ended up bad or really bad for me? I have recently found out about HD but even though I have dived into it, searching for more info besides profile and type, which is merely the surface, I don't get to find the ones that could explain bad luck, misfortune, wrong intuition etc..
6/2 here. The take away for me is that I am NOT the doer but I am here to guide the doers. Can you better explain the conscience and unconscious of a 6/2 energetic soul? Like I heard that the 6 is the way my personality is and the 2 is how the world sees me. Is that right?

Hi, Amanda... 5/1 Emotional Projector over here, spleen, root and plexus defined, and learning all about HD since December. I think the most complex for me right now is making people to understand that I'm not a doer... because I still receive invitations to do, to hustle, to operate for others... How to change this?
This is a fantastic question - one that I could create an entire video on. From my discovery, the invitations will match the energy you're putting out into the world. If the wrong ones are coming in, analyze where you need to decondition. With embodying the projector life, it's not necessarily about doing less right away - instead, ask "do I know when enough is enough?" As you ask this while moving through your day, you'll become more aware of the energy you have access to. You'll then be "in the experiment" as you choose to either push through the lack of energy or respect it and step away from the task. The more you respect your energy, the more you'll witness a new path (with new invitations) emerging before you.
There's nothing necessarily wrong with this approach - energy management is the key. Just consistently ask "do I know when enough is enough?" Often the answer is no 😆 if you feel you're pushing your limits, it doesn't have to change anything ... but pay attention to the result of doing so. Over time, you'll gain awareness of your limits and know how to walk the line better. I'm def still learning but after 3 years of asking this question, I've def gained a helpful level of awareness around it. I'm by no means perfect but it's a journey and I'm on it is how I view it 💪

I too am a 2/4 Splenic projector and I have the same experience when I do energy work...I see the things people aren't ready to hear and piss a lot of people off, and then a year or so down the road they thank me. Now I just travel as a house and pet sitter, while it's not my true jam, I noticed more invites than I can handle, and so i just roll with it. I have SO much to share about how energies work, but even now people just aren't quite receptive. The very few who are, have grown exponentially in a short period of time, and I wonder why they aren't telling everyone they know about me, then I get over it and remember the right people will come. 💚

I’m really Ctfu, I JUST learned about human design maybe three hours ago and everything is making recently. I’ve been wondering, and observing my own self observe other people., I also been observing myself waiting for the invitation, but I never really knew what I was doing or how I was feeling as it was happening. The waiting period feels uncomfortable but I’m glad I know what it is now !
I'm an emotional projector raising an emotional projector and a mental projector. Their father was a manifest or and somehow we worked extremely well together. I'm split definition and hubs had centers defined that were between those two centers so maybe that's why. He passed away but I feel he helped me become a better version of me in our 11 years together.
Thanks for this video! It's very insightful. Several years ago, I learned I am a 4/6 Splenic Projector and, basically filed that information away without a lot of follow actions. Well, since then I'd retired from my job last year on my 60th Birthday due to conscientious objections around things that were damaging others. Afterwards, I'd taken a year to travel and clear my head. Now, I want to do something to help others, but don't have a clue as to what that will be. I have many interests, including Astrology and Enneagram, but not sure where I want to go with any of it. Whenever I engage anyone in conversation on these subjects, I easily get along well on with these people with in easy flow and feel most alive. I'm not sure if they are where I belong, especially after remembering Human Design. I'm beginning to learn more to get a better sense on my next steps in life. Thanks again for your insights!

I'd love to hear your perspective on sidereal versus tropical HD. In tropical I'm a 2/4 projector with splenic authority. In sidereal I'm a 4/1 self projected projector. Both resonate to some extent although I know a full reading of either would have more depth. For now, I'm choosing to see what works best for me and leave the rest but I'm curious what system you choose in your reading. Or if you leave it up to the client to choose.

So glad I found you. I am a 6/2 emotional projector. I'm very interested in what makes people tick. Why they are who they are etc etc. I have spent most of my life indulging isln learning astrology and still do. However the Human Design only further explains in a different way and I love it so much. It fills in the missing gaps. I couldn't figure out why I was so depleted, why I burnt out after ever venture I tried. I was ridiculed by everyone I know for not "sticking with one thing" and "working hard" like everyone else. It was awful. I took a big leap earlier this year to start my own brand. It's slow but I'm nurturing it and trying to be ok with the slowness of it's growth but disheartened by the lack of funds while I wait. I took have a lot of different "buckets" as I call them, for generating wealth but all are just the tip and not quite flowing yet. I really don't know how to interpret an invitation honestly and I'm working through self esteem issues as well that make it challenging.
You've GOT this! The road of a projector isn't necessarily easy at first but it's so worth finding alignment. I'd love to help you in a reading if you can swing it.
