I am simply addicted to "Sleigh Ride." I play it in July. I decided to listen to this song today after RU-vid popped it up. Lets just say the photos of NYC are simply wonderful. The song not so much.
Wow, Nigel, each time I decide you could not possibly outdo yourself in creating visual accompaniments (especially New York City) to the much loved Americana gems of Leroy Anderson, I find yet another to love! This one is so special in its blend of vintage and contemporary images as Anderson and you take us on a Promenade about NYC. Being a Subway enthusiast, I loved your initial images, including the elevated 5 train and the iconic bi-level Grand Central complex where the 4-5-6 Lexington Ave trains meet the perpendicular 7 platform deep beneath Grand Central Terminal. Also wonderful to see some examples of the once great, sadly departed, yellow fleet of Ford Crown Victoria taxicabs with their lithe yet muscular forms (can you tell I miss them?)...so many aspects of the city, drawn together by this engaging example of Anderson's genius for composing and arranging. Thank you for another favorite synthesis of music and a great city.
LEROY Anderson eu tenho o maior carinho por você sua música da vida estilo e animação as fotos da metrópole dos anos 45 e muito bonito ver pessoas da que lá época
YOU'RE NOT ALONE IN NOT KNOWING ANDERSON'S MUSIC MUCH! THE MUSIC MEDIA HAS BURIED SO MUCH REAL, GREAT, OUTSTANDING COMPOSERS SUCH AS NIGEL ANDERSON!!! AND INSTEAD,,, WE GET SHLOCK & ROLL! AND THE (DIS)LIKES OF MAD-DONNA, AND LADY GAG-GAG! SAD INDEED! SEX HAS INFILTRATED MUSIC TO THAT BAD A DEGREE!!! OI VEYSTEIN!!!!
This sound exactly like it would be used in an old cartoon where a narrator describes the city and one mans life while directly interacting with the character. Idk if anyone understand what I'm talking about lol
Most of the photographs I used of New York, I took from the internet, mixed with a few of my own from my Canon OXS. Then processed through my Mac and Imovie.
