Leigh is higher rated than Thomas because dribbling is a stat that is heavily weighted for a CAM. Just EA things. Another example of why ratings aren't everything.

Squad role is driven solely by ovr rating. Something I hope EA will address at some point. Not holding my breath. Causes so many issues with players demanding moves.

Not only that but even if a lower rated player is 1-2 ratings lower than a starter they’ll still demand an important role. Logically that doesn’t make sense even if the ratings are close.

There are ways to manipulate this even without mods. It's a bit complex, but I spent some time and cracked the logic the game uses for assigning squad roles because I was tired of this happening all the time. It's actually completely broken and easy to manipulate if you know what to do. I'd be happy to share if you are interested, it will be a bit long so don't want to write an essay here unless someone is genuinely interested.

Can you change that with the live editor to make them only squad rotational player. That's a bit ridiculous losing to youth players cuz of a game bug

Put higher rated players on the team sheet in their positions before signing and that works too without mods. Any player will do, could even be your goalkeeper in an outfield position as long as the team sheet shows higher rated players at the prospective signings position.

PCQ: With two strong seasons at the helm, would failure to gain promotion this season potentially lead you to another club? Newly relegated sides from the Championship could be keen to hire a manager who delivers consistent top six finishes, and as your reputation grows could it outgrow your current club? With the situation like Clackson. Would you be able to alter their contracts once signing them. I feel like it is realistic that a youth player has a great starting rating but doesn’t necessarily start every game. Would stop them from going unhappy all the time.

Agreed. I think no matter the rating of a Youth Player, they should only be a Prospect in the season they are signed. Obviously that can be reviewed during the 2nd season

Even without mods you can manipulate squad roles to an extent. For example if you are signing a midfielder, or promoting one from the youth academy, put a higher rated player in every midfield position in the team sheet before negotiating the contract. It doesn't matter what the natural position is for the current players you put in there. If you have, say, 4 midfield positions all with higher rates players occupying them, the new signing will come in as a lower squad role like sporadic or rotation, possibly prospect if they are under 22 years old.

PCQ. With speculation that your planning on letting go of key experienced players in the squad is there a risk that if you do get promoted you may run the risk of not having enough experience to comfortably survive if you do get promoted? Loving the content.

POTY: Rafferty/Browne Fans POTY: Rafferty/Browne Signing of the Season: Yengi YPOTY: Henderson or Dodds. Most Improved: Clarkson I feel Rafferty and Browne have been clearly the best two players in the side this season but Yengi should be signing of the season as his signing had a much bigger impact on the side considering the state of the striker situation when he was signed and his impact on the results since coming in. YPOTY would have gone to Dodds but his loan move made it a contest between him and Henderson. Most improved could go to a few players but just based on numbers (Overall rating growth) I'll give it to Clarkson.

I'm not sure whether others feel the same way, but I've grown rather attached to Jordan Cousins being in the team, I'd like to see him get a contract extension. Always been very reliable

PCQ: if you do manage to get promoted this season, you'll probably face a lot of teams with more quality on the ball in the Championship. Would you consider changing your tactic from wingplay to a more defensive or counterattack oriented play-style or maybe changing individual player instructions to be more defensively minded and solid?
