The scream of those superchargers at 110mph can't be put into words. 6250rpm is over revving however, re- propping for 5200-5400rpm will bring top speed up to about 128mph. That's a nice clip, especially in a 47ft boat.
Hey!...Artie & Annie! This Should Bring Back Some Memories! Remember The Blowers Screaming With The Wide Open Gill Headers & You Guys Would Run To The Cabin With Mom Yelling At Me... "Slow Down!!!!!" (you don't build a boat like this & ever consider "Slowing Down") lol/seeya!
@@dieseldog00 The 900's were only fitted with 6's so kbviously yes. But it is impossible to guess which props and ratios. During this period Fountain made a lot of changes to setups between deliveries. Some came with one X, others with another X. Spacers, bottom mods, gear ratios etc. Impossible to guess. Could be anywhere from 31" to 36" props. Doubt they are lower or higher though.
Top Speed should be 130mph.+ with a new set of props. We had 118 with wide open for about 5 seconds. For a big boat like this, the very top end number comes after et least 30 seconds. These are also old technology props. New Herings will get better speed. Great boat, in immaculate condition! Call me if interested: 011(from USA) 47 90260909
@@dieseldog00 I agree 118mph at 6250rpm is over revving and not only slows the boat down, it will toast those motors pretty quick. 125-130mph when propped correctly dropping rpm down to 5200-5500 rpm sounds about right. I know the Fountain 47 Lightning with 2 Mercury Racing 1075's was tested by Powerboat Magazine to hit 120mph, the same motors in the 42ft Fountain Lightning hit a hair under 130.
