I really dream about finding the playable prototype version of this game! Fans are trying to recreate some of the scrapped stuff and we already have the Restored version. But that is not an official release... The beta version of The Chamber Of Secrets had a whole lot of awesome unused or remade stuff. But with this game we only have promo screenshots, demo version, trailer and a video from E3. Yeah, many things are still can be found in the game files. But I want to show you all promotion screenshots I've found and point out some changes. Many of these screenshots have awful quality, but it's still ok for this purpose.
0:00 - Snape labyrinth?
This location is very interesting. I think it's from the library. Maybe there could be not only Filch and also Snape, just like in the PS1 version?
0:15 - Transfiguration
The game has unused Avifors spell, even with the spell icon. So, the first level could be the Avifors challenge. This transfiguration classroom was completely unused in this game, but they used it in the second one, even with some changes.
0:35 - Gryffindor common room
It has some differences
1:10 - Hogwarts
These areas were unused and the ladder was moved.
1:45 - Maybe they thought to let Hagrid enter the Hogwarts?
1:50 - The door and the portrait are different
1:55 - The paining on the wall is different
Plus the door is locked...
2:00 - Fred and George are both had blue sweaters
2:20 - Something is wrong with the door
Also the direction of the floor planks is the opposite
2:30 - Well, different font and required percentage
2:50 - Different flipendo blocks
3:00 - The fountain is different, isn't it?
3:05 - Different time meter and rings counter
3:25 - All spells were yellow-red...
3:30 - M? And required percentage is too low
Also Flitwick is higher
3:35 - Troll's healthbar?
4:10 - Different Nevil's face
4:20 - 1/1
4:25 - Hogwarts is very different
4:30 - This weird unused location is from the trailer
4:35 - The torch is different
4:40 - Cauldrons seem fine, but maybe there are differences...
5:00 - Another unused location
5:05 - It could be the way to the potions lesson
It's a very interesting location and it was nicely recreated in the Restored version.
5:25 - Lumos platforms are kinda different
5:35 - Another remade puzzle
It was even in the "thanks for playing" montage from the HP 7.2 game... It's hard to say was this puzzle good or not even when we have the video of it.
5:40 - The Troll has different model
It's much more scary and has less clothes (I think it even hasn't clothes at all...). Plus he has a healthbar, which is interesting, because there's no point in it, really...
5:45 - The location was changed too
5:50 - Flying key effects are different
And what does 0/5 mean?
6:00 - And also a couple of small screenshots
These are seem to be super rare, so I couldn't find a better quality...
But there's almost nothing interesting.
And bonus: official concept arts. They are show us some unused enemies and characters...
6:05 - For example, this frog
6:10 - Or this Troll
6:15 - Or this dragon...
6:20 - Devil's Snare was cooler too...
