Keith Lockhart conducts BBC Concert Orchestra performing main theme to Cinema Paradiso composed by Ennio & Andrea Morricone at the Royal Albert Hall during Film Music Prom 2011
I can't stop crying. The grand maestro has departed and will never come back. I am so sad. His music will be forever in our hearts. Adio maestro. Gracie
I have never been so moved by violin playing in all of my life, and I am now 81 years old. Chloe, that was perfection, and perfection can not be improved. Thank you , Thank you, for that Divine rendition. You made an old man cry.
THE LAST WORDS OF A GREAT COMPOSER AND MAN: "I, Ennio Morricone, am dead. I announce it to all the friends who have always been close to me and also to those who are a little far away, that I greet with great affection. Impossible to name them all. But a special memory is for Peppuccio (Tornatore) and Roberta, fraternal friends, very present in the last years of our life. There is only one reason that drives me to greet everyone like this and to have a funeral in private form: I DO NOT WANT TO DISTURB. I warmly greet Ines, Laura, Sara, Enzo and Norbert for sharing a large part of my life with me and my family. I want to remember with love my sisters Adriana, Maria and Franca and their loved ones and to let them know how much I loved them. A full intense and profound greeting to my children, Marco, Alessandra, Andrea and Giovanni, my daughter-in-law Monica, and to my grandchildren Francesca, Valentina, Francesco and Luca. I hope they understand how much I loved them. Last but not least, Maria. I renew to you the extraordinary love that has held us together and that I am sorry to abandon. To you the most painful farewell."
This theme and movie are close to my heart. My family owns a cinema theatre in a small town in India. I grew up with cinema just like Toto. Only Ennio could do justice to the movie by composing such a masterpiece. RIP Maestro
That violin playing is just outrageously beautiful, what a stunning talent, musical, flawless technique and SOUL, Morricone is just a genius who breaks my heart every time I hear his work

Em todas as línguas, in all the human languages, bad humans and miracle humans at the same time, always stay near to god. No hitlers no Bolsonaros is better than us.
I feel your tears, I saw it in premiere in Paris, the extended version first, and my emotions get exacerbated every time I see that amazing film, 39 times later I cry even more! Toto stole my hear!
A lovely performance of a poignant film score that, personally, meant a great deal to me and my family. My dad and I performed a simplified version of this theme at my brother's wedding. It was fitting, because the occasion was beautiful yet my dad was dying of cancer. The sadness of the music actually bonded us in a way that was joyful. A vediamocci, Ennio.
Rest in Peace Ennio! The Love Theme from Cinema Paradiso is definitely one of the most beautiful pieces of music ever written. How can one's soul not weep listening to such a masterpiece? Thank you, Ennio!
Your violin touches my spirit and softens my heart. I think of my mother who passed away in 2015, all of a sudden in her sleep. I never had a chance to say goodbye. This song completes my goodbyes to her. Thanks for a spotless performance. Greg Flores
beautiful- reminds us how precious life is.. World is going through a hard time, prayers for all who are taking their last breath in this beautiful life.
If you love this performance, see the movie. When I saw it in the theater for the first time (I went back twice) when it ended, no one got up. The audience sat in silence and started to talk to each other -- those who were not sobbing. The movie is the greatest. I see it once a year, Amazon has it. Get it and watch the shorter version first.
Another rendition of music from Cinema Paradiso you might enjoy, from the Emeth Ensemble: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-G6JHr5wsRy4.html
For me as a man, this movie alone is extremely tragic and sad (geared towards the perspective of a man, not a woman) The knowledge having love and have lost it… that’s me. The rendition is so beautiful and so extremely sad. It’s quite weird that this makes me so emotional. I’m not an emotional man. But oh how I remember the torment of losing love… this is just so beautiful that it touches my soul.
GRAZIE MAESTRO for all the emotions you have given us ! What would have been so many movies without your music ?! They will remain in our memories thanks to your famous and beautiful soundtracks ! RIP Maestro ! 🌹🙏🏻 We Italians are proud of you ! 🇮🇹
This music is so sublime, so beautiful, so powerful, words cannot describe it. What a talent from both composers and this wonderful lady on the violin. God bless them all with that precious talent. I get goosebumps just listening and my eyes got watery, such beauty, calm and just something that seems to grab my soul at this. I still remember the first time I heard it at the movies Cinema Paradiso.
Wow! Absolutely beautiful. There's nothing more powerful and magical than this piece of music. It goes right to the heart and soul. Lovely, performance. Thank you.
