I don't think he's gay, just really desperate for attention/validation and hangs around anyone he thinks is "cool" and will tolerate him. that and he's a cup.
It's funny though because Shake is voiced by Dana Snyder who also voices The Alchemist in Venture Bros. who is very openly gay. "Orpheus, I have to say this is gay and that's coming from a man who voluntarily has sex with other men."
Handbanana and Carl is unconsentual and I don't like to think about that very much if at all. This, however, is cute and silly and fun to draw for me so I love the idea of them together. Also, this is a joke video AND I take shipping these two seriously. Both are true at the same time.
