Propagandhi is one of the few bands that have become better as they have aged. I liked them as a teen, but it wasn’t until Today’s Empires that I really fell in love with them. They ditched the poppy punk sound, and embraced their love of thrash, also they lyrics and message matured, and they have evolved into one beast of a band. I can honestly say that I’m now in my 40’s I can still feel and connect with everything they put out. Absolutely legendary band.
The first bit of the song is a total dig. Heavy sarcasm aimed towards some specific people. And then the song transitions, and Chris gets serious about what music is supposed to be. Traditional mainstream punk is just fast food for people who don’t know any better. Propagandhi are the nutritionists that will keep you informed and help you lose the weight.
Potemkin city limits, the album fron which this song comes, came out in 2005. Almost 20 years ago. I personally still roll it often. Probably my favorite from them.
Saw them for $10 back in 1996/97 - can't remember it was like 100 people. Band were skating and hanging out afterwards. Still one of the honest timeless ones
Cell to chuck for the “uh oooohh” right off the bat like a ball. Good band, great song. Fuckin goof might mean something idk north of Texas but they meant it when they said it yeah?
@@Quarthon I thought I’d heard that sometime ago, it’s a relatively benign thing here, I guess a PSA is in order. If you’re traveling to Canada, don’t call anyone a fucking goof unless you truly mean it. They will fight you. Rainbow, star, shitty theme music aaaaand scene.
Ohhhhh glad to hear the 9 rating, Chuck!! Glad i hit the mark on this one for ya lol. They have so many more songs that kick the fuck out of the system in such an aggressive and intelligent way. This song is actually apart of a small fued between them and NOFX's Rock Against Bush albums and how they were supported by George Soros - a billionaire arms dealer basically. Chuck totally gets the fucking brain cell on this one!
