These grow like weeds in my yard here in central valley of California. They actually propagate themselves and I just dig them up and transplant and they do great. They sort of spread like weeds (though I really like them) and although they can't take the very hot late summer direct sun/heat here in my area they grow very fast and spread fast throughout the spring and summer. I'm not sure how they propagate so prolifically in my yard naturally but they do spread quickly and I find them growing nearby my parent plants - presumably they seed and spread naturally. I may try to propagate by cuttings now that I've seen your video!

My sister just trimmed the hell out of her paper plant that was outside.. it was huge... luckily I got to the cuttings in time to cut off the tops to try propagate them! I hope this works!

Hullo Miss Bird. Loved your video and would like to see your results of propagating in s moss. Btw, my understanding of Fatsia j is that it doesn’t like direct sun and the leaves will go crispy when exposed to it.

Hi, I'm very new to plants and don't seem to be very good at it haha. I have a Fatsia as my first plant and everything was great. I had new shoots coming up in the soil so I decided to repot him and ever since then his leaves were going brown from the centre of the leaves, I then found that they were just breaking off. I now have 3 leaves right on the top and none on the stem. I've scratched the main stem and that is still green but the other stem next to it has now gone brown and feels rotten.....I don't know what I've done 🙈 Is there a certain type of compost I should be using, I'm thinking maybe I need to report it but get rid of the dead stem and hope for the best. I have tried to google but keep getting conflicted information and no-one seems to be able to give me any advice on what I should be doing to save him....He looks so bare now! Any advice would be very much appreciated! Lauren

Hello Miss Bird. Great content thanks! You are an expert for us! I have a spider web in my living room. But the leaves in the lower part are falling (Way faster than the new leaves are growing). The leaves start to have black spot and then the spots get bigger, and, finally the leaves dry and fall by themselves. So, could you or someone tell me what is the problem? I am thinking to propagate it in order to save my plant. Do you know if from one stem I can cut multiple sections? Other question: How is doing your mother plants? Did she survives the stem cutting? Did the new sproutes come from the center of the stem? Thanks a lot for your contribution :)

So I have switched to using just coconut choir instead of moss...Do you think that will work just as good? It stays moist just like Sphagnum moss.

I was wondering if you could help! I bought this plant 3/4 weeks ago and it’s got root rot (not something I’ve got experience with). The roots are so tiny and I’ve managed to removed the bad ones, but what do I do next? Do I put it in water to help is establish roots again? Although the roots seem an okay length, or do I put it in new soil? Thanks!
